My last annual took a month.   I dropped it off a few days before it was scheduled (for personal reasons_).  Shop started a week late due to some issues with another annual and a couple of AOG issues.

One alternator needed to be serviced and due to shipping issues, that took an extra week.

It takes how long it takes.  BUT, I see many people getting flat rate $1500 annuals.  That may work for a fixed  gear Cessna or Cherokee, but IMO, not for a complex aircraft like a Mooney.
