However, FAA Airman shows that the owner is Commercial with Helicopter (Type rated in a Blackhawk), also a CFI (current - aircraft and helicopter) and Mechanic.
wiguy Posted April 27, 2025 Report Posted April 27, 2025 My usual procedure is to put the gear down between mid-field and abeam the landing point, on downwind. If a streight in, 2-2.5 miles out. On top of that, if things get a tad busy, gear goes down. Then, between that point and touchdown, those ‘green lights’ get checked about 5 or more times. With many of our planes, a gear up will be very expensive. There are mechanical failures, a few it may be hard to foresee, not all though. 1
