Crank/Rod Bearing Shortage?

A3B6D has been out for 2 1/2 years - long story, fretted case, corrosion throughout, etc, etc, etc.

I’m now being told the German manufacturer of bearings stopped making them and none can be found.  New manufacturer in FAA approval process.

I have searched for information on this and find nothing.  Anyone have any info or is it a line of BS I’m getting?

Is the crank ground down?

Just bearings for the crank and rods?   

Engine model complete and S/N

Has the crank been ground to undersize and what size?

Case had about 500 hours, serviced through Divco.

Crank and rod bearings.

Crank needed no work

Don’t have the case s/n available.  Builder says “It is the latest bearing design”

Primary reason for the post it to see if the story in my original post is true or a line of BS.

Get part numbers out of Lycoming parts catalog, see if you can order through Spruce, call two more Lycoming dealers like air power and Triad, the you know for sure what is going on

Lycoming bearings are made by King Bearing. Their US headquarters are in New Jersey. The bearings are manufactured in Israel and Serbia. They make bearings for both Lycoming and Superior.
