I put a JPI 930 in my M20M about two years ago and I’ve had constant problems. The fuel pressure comes and goes. The fuel flow comes and goes the fuel quantity does not work well even though I put the CEIS sensors in.  Currently, I have no fuel pressure reading and JPI has been less than helpful at this point. I could not recommend using this equipment and would recommend using the Garmin 275. I am still working on this with JPI. Does anybody else have similar problems?

I completed the installation of a JPI EDM 900 in my Mooney about 15 months ago. Had one problem with the oil temp probe at initial installation. JPI was very prompt about shipping a free replacement oil temp probe. That resolved the issue. No problems since after ~100 hours TIS. I’m very happy with the JPI, and would highly recommend it to others.

JPI EDM 730 - love it.

Same.

@Horis- it sounds like you have an installation issue.  My suggestion is to take your plane to a shop that has a lot of experience with JPI products and work with them.  Probably not the shop that installed it.

Most of the time if there are issues it is the ground wire.  Either it is not installed per the manual or no longer providing a good ground connection.

Good luck, keep us posted.

My JPI 900 is quite solid and reliable now.  The issues were all install related. JPI's technical support is spotty in quality, so it took a long time to troubleshoot properly - by contrast to EI for instance.  I suspect your situation is the same.

I agree with Andy. Make sure that all the connections for the probe wires are done correctly with a star washer in between the terminals. I've had my 900 for almost 5 years and 700 hours without issues along with the CiES senders and an 830 for years prior without issues. The only hiccup I had was a fluctuation in the MP which was corrected with a snubber.

I had ~900 hours and 10 years on my jpi-930 with almost no problems.  Slight fluctuations in mp and fuel pressure which were solved with snubbers.  Otherwise it was solid.  I didn’t get terrific customer service, but they did eventually respond to issues.  I’d bet you have install issues.

Disclosure: I sell and install JPI equipment.

Horis, sounds like you have an installer problem.

I get it that you are frustrated, but I kinda roll my eyes at your multiple problems and your expectation that JPI help fix them.  Install a GI-275 - you are not even going to speak with Garmin, they have a dealer network for this.  And they use the same (or sometimes poorer quality transducers).

1) Fuel flow - these transducers are used in just about every engine monitor installation (JPI, EI, Garmin, Shadin). JPI sell a little 'simulator' for $35 that generates a signal and will test your wiring, the connections, the JPI display etc.  Fuel flow 'comes and goes' - I'm not sure what this means?

2) CiES - these are rock solid if installed and calibrated correctly.  Unfortunately that's where it starts going wrong.  Not much you can get wrong with the installation other than having the wrong source for the transducer power, do not use the JPI 5V on the connector, you need to use aircraft power.  Also it needs to be grounded at the transducer.  'Not working well' - well that's just too wide a description.  Bad calibration?  Not repeatable?  Intermittent?  Mooneys have 'complicated' fuel tank shapes and two transducers per tank.  Plenty of opportunity for erratic indications, like no decrease for the first 15G, then it goes down at one rate until the top of take is 'uncovered' then a different rate when the sidewalls are in play, then another rate when the bottom of the tank is in play.  Choose the calibration points incorrectly and you are going to get goofy results.

3) No fuel pressure - was it working in the beginning, now nothing?  Bad connectors, broken wire, failed transducer?  Easy for any technician.

Multiple problems - overall grounding problem, or signs of a bad installation.

You are not giving us much to work on, and if you are having problems with JPI, they are going to be less than helpful with limited information.

Send me your data file and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will keep you posted. No doubt there were installation issues. So Many!! The NAV antenna was connected to the com and the comAntenna was connected to the NAV and many more. (if you are having an installation done if you are having a installation done in Texas contact me and I will tell you how in Texas. In TX contact me and I will tell you who not to use)We have already found that the CiES sensors were installed incorrectly. They were rubbing up against the sidewall inside the tank, which did not allow full travel. That has been corrected now I have to spend the time and money to have them recalibrated. I’m on my third pressure transducer and second fuel flow transducer.
