MoonMech Posted October 28 Report Posted October 28 The pre J maintenance manual I've downloaded does not give any instructions or guidance on how to accomplish a windshield swap. I have a few ideas on how to proceed (reference the M20J manual and 43.13-1B) but if anyone has any insight or a manual that contains the procedures I'd appreciate it. Quote
Fritz1 Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 you might consider hiring somebody who has done this a lot, maybe do the 201 windshield swap Quote

Utah20Gflyer Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 I’d imagine if you removed the interior trim it would be fairly evident how it is installed. I’ve never done it and I haven’t looked at how the windshield is installed but based on all of the screws around the perimeter I would assume the screws go through the windshield into a backing peice and that is what is pulling it flush against the airframe. I would be very surprised if this wasn’t the arrangement. So in principle it is very easy, in practice much more difficult because of the trimming the windshield to fit properly, drilling the holes correctly and not putting any cracks in it while doing so. Very detail oriented and time consuming work with a fairly unforgiving material. Quote
