This owner is ok. A section of my fence blew out (vinyl fences are a bad idea in FL... it blew out with Irma and Ian) but otherwise I don't think we have any outside damage.

I will go to the airport tomorrow but I'm not concerned about the airplane given it is hangered. Punta Gorda, where I keep the airplane had a lot of flooding, but my understanding is that the airport does not flood.

Hopefully others made out ok. I would imagine Mooney X is cancelled. Tampa has lots of flooding.

I’m in Jacksonville Florida. Just a lot of wind from midnight to around 4am. Lost power just after midnight but came back around 7:30am. My Mooney, however, is at Cole Aviation in Georgia for annual. It was inside the hangar so hopefully they made through ok.

When I went to bed last night, the brisk north wind was pushing the water out of the Apalachicola bay like it always does.

Much to my surprise, when I looked at the tide station trace this morning, I saw the attached.  we got hit with a 2 or 3’ foot inundation on the bay side of St. George Island. We were very fortunate considering the much larger inundations around to the east in the big bend. We and the plane are up north, and the vehicles are in our hangar at KAAF, which should be fine. Thanks for asking.

The peak water level is just over 5’ which is impressive considering Hurricane Michael, which was massively destructive, notched an 8’ water level at the Apalachicola river station.

Once again, the HAFS-A and -B were pretty much spot on in the last 12 hours, really as were the GFS  and Euro. Weather forecasting has come a long way, and absent these models, a quick-forming, quick-moving storm like this would be a killer on a major scale.

I think I see a Redfish on my driveway!

@Hector I’m sure your Mooney is fine. I’m a good bit east of Cole here in north georgia and the storm passed just east of me. No wind damage personally, but lots and lots of trees down in the area. Lost power around 5am and it is looking like it could be a couple of days before they get that sorted out. I’ve got plenty of fuel for the generator so everything is good on my end. (And I sure am glad my mooney is still in a hangar out west.)

Fine here.  I’m next to Crystal River and Cedar Key.  We got up 50 mph on the wind. Not much rain. Lots of debris clean up yesterday. I’m heading to the airport this morning and going to take a short flight up the coast.

Saw video of Cedar Key on the news. Did not look good for those folks.

I'd imagine it's really bad for those folk and that they are going to need a lot of help. They have had it really bad for the past two years. I wonder if the runway is still there. I know the governor landed there, but I'm assuming it was via helicopter.

Any updates to cedar key airport? There are no notams.

When I flew over yesterday there was a 172 taking off. I also didn’t see any NOTAMS.  Here is a picture I took from 1500.  Might not be able to see much but the west and south side of the restaurant structure is wiped out.  Lots of debris in places ther shouldn’t be. When I traveled back up to Yankeetown and the mouth of Withlacoochie (river I live on) there was a couple sheds down river, a house on the point looked finished and a few boats on some of those vacant islands offshore….lots of leveled trees.

I have a friend in that area. They've had to do extensive repairs to their home several times in the past few years. That's just rough to deal with. I feel so bad for them.
