What are everyone's thoughts on mixing and matching interior upgrades from different suppliers? I'm thinking about replacing the carpet with Airtex carpets, panels with a Jaeger/Wisconsin Aviation system, and then likely custom upholstery for the seats.

For those familiar, are the Jaeger interiors actually easy to install?

If it’s your first interior, then no it’s not easy.  If you’ve done an aircraft interior before, or you have a good amount of help from someone who has some experience, it’s not too bad.

My Mooney was my 3rd aircraft interior, plus I’m an A&P.  I thought it was a good mix of straightforward pieces, intuition, and common sense fabrication.  Just be aware that there really aren’t any step-by-step instructions.

I used Airtex for my seats and carpet.  I’m very happy with it.

My seats, side panel accents, and carpets came from different sources but they’re still complimentary.  Not an issue to me.

I've never done an aircraft interior and don't know anyone around here that has. But now I know you, so when are you free? :D Just kidding. I like the clean look of the Jaeger interiors but I'm not sure I want to attempt that on my own with no experience. I suppose this is where the price of the installation becomes justified.

I think this is the key.  As long as everything chosen compliments the rest it will look great.  The key is staying away from close matches that don’t actually quite match.  For example two light greys might not look good because they are close but not exact.    But if you do a light grey and a medium grey from different suppliers it won’t look pieced together.
