Anyone have recent experience removing a Brittain rudder servo?  The left and right servos pull in opposing directions on a common bellcrank.  Investigating removing the right servo for repair while removing both left and right cables until the servo is reinstalled.  Wondering if the cables (or cable nut) can be easily removed from the servo without risking damage to the rubber seal.

As I recall, there is risk of damaging the rubber since the nut is on the back.  Might be better to disconnect the good one only at the idler (bell crank).

I only took a quick look but I believe the cable from the right to left servo is joined as one assembly where it attaches to the idler / bell drank.  Will look again.  If the two cables can be separated that would be great.   I'm obviously trying to avoid removing the good servo.  Three of mine held 6" vacuum along with all the lines and T's.  I only have the one red rudder servo leaking.

The servo cables are joined by a linkage and can be separated. In the attached picture, you can just see the beginning of the linkage. I removed all 4 to refurbish around 8 months ago.

Yours are definitely installed differently than mine.  Yours appear to both face forward.  My red / right one faces aft; my green / left one faces forward.  The two cables join in the middle.  I'll look to see if my cables can be separated too.  Did you require any new rubber seals ?

What you are looking at in the picture is one rudder and one elevator servo.  00- is correct, they should separate at the link…they are pinned or bolted together.

For the folks that responded, thanks for the help as always.  Found the source of the leak; servo has been removed for repairs.  Don't have a good pic; but there's a thin jam nut that can be held on the outside of the servo where the cable nut screws on the center post; no issue twisting the rubber seal / diaphragm when you unscrew the cable.  Was able to remove the servo without removing the other end of the cable (at the link).
