I have a 78 M20J. The left aileron has a noticable clunk when moved up and down by hand. The right is nice and tight. Turns out the bellcrank bushing and bearings and worn. I have a new bushing and bearings. My question is has anyone removed the bearings from the bellcrank before. I have not been able to find any information on how to remove the bearings. Only other option is to find a good used bellcrank. Thanks Mark

I had mine partly out to change the pushrod last year, and it's a tricky spot to work in.   Other than being difficult to get at and a little bit of a Tetris/Jenga exercise, it's not very complicated, just annoying.

I purchased a used bellcrank from BAS. They purchased all the salvage parts from Lasar. The two bearings in the pivot were worn. I tried to remove them with no luck. They must be pressed in or with lock tight. I installed a new bushing and hardware and my left aileron no longer has any slop. Thanks for the replay and yes it is a difficult but doable task.
