My bad, my removed gauges are the cluster type. I thought I might be able to remove the oil temp gauge from the cluster block but no luck so far.

Not so many cheers,

No worries!  I appreciate you looking!

Yours looks like there is a D preceding the C.
Texas Air Salvage. They have several vintage Mooneys in their parts sonar inventory.

This might be the ticket.  I think my searches were too specific.

So far I'm not impressed with Texas Air Salvage.  They have a Garwin engine cluster that I think will work.  I've called twice, talked to someone both times.  They told me they'd call me back but I've never received a call.  Also, they indicate that the cluster gauges may or may not work and they aren't returnable.

I contacted a seller on ebay about one they have listed, no contact back.

The search continues and the frustration level increases.......

Ouch.. not a big help there…

I wonder if David @Sabremech has the cluster from my plane still - of course it’s from a 66

Could also try BAS Parts, Maxwells, or Lasar to see if they have a line on one…

edit: I see you checked BAS and LASAR…

Yeah, I checked BAS website and they have some Garwin instrument clusters but they don't have the right part numbers.  Lasar has the part on their site but not in stock.  If I could find some original Garwin documentation I might be able to determine interoperability but I don't want to spend the $$ for something I don't know if it will work or not.

Maybe time for the $80k panel upgrade! :P

Well, I just dropped 25amu on the panel.  My CFO says I'm broke now!! lol

I did have the avionics shop cut a spot for an EDM-900 and put a face plate over it.  I plan on doing  the EDM-900 later this year.  At this point, I honestly wish that I'd went ahead and had them install the EDM.

I’d encourage digging deeply in the couch cushions and going forward with the EDM900 if you possibly can.

Did mine a couple years ago and it’s an amazing change.

I would you my old cluster but I gave it to the son of my Mooney’s original owner as a bookend. That’s about all it was good for. Oil pressure was the only component that really worked anymore.  Anyone who said they would even crack the case on my old cluster made no promises that they could fix anything, much less warranty it.

How about just getting a single new TSO oil temp gauge and sensor, put it in the cover where the JPI will go. Once you’re ready for the JPI, no new holes… like this below (have it in 1 1/4 or 2 1/4 size)

https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pnpages/10-02443.php or

https://mitchellproducts.com/product/electric-gauges-electric-temperature-gauge-2-1-4-inch/ or

https://mitchellproducts.com/product/mechanical-gauges-temperature-gauge-2-1-4-inch/

It would cost about what the overhaul would for the instrument and a bit for sensor and wire up. Valid and legal replacement. Just leave the original out or, put it back in and label it inop - as a temp solution so you can fly?

I’m almost to that point. I’ve got a lead on two clusters right now. Will know more in a day or two. I’ll visit my mechanic on Friday to see what his schedule is like.

Removed my cluster for 900 install. Let me know if you still can't find a part

I have an entire extra cluster set for my '67F.  If your leads don't work out, I'll check my P/Ns.  I just had a fuel gage overhauled by Air Parts of Lockhaven.  They'll charge about $390 to overhaul and ship one.  Best thing might be to overhaul yours but you'll have to wait for it 4-6 weeks.  Fuel senders get turned around much quicker.

Yeah I tried having mine overhauled and the shop told me it was too far gone.

I’ll holler if the other leads don’t work out.

Welcome to the new normal.  Sucks, but you have to call, email, and text every day.
