My pilot seat back is listing back and  to the right.  Feels like a vertical support may have broken.  Any ideas for repair or replacement seats available?   Base in Montana…. Thanks in advance!

Is the bracket slipping off the cam that adjusts the seat back angle? The bracket is worn from moving the seat fore/aft and using your hand on the upper part of the seat back to get in and out of the cabin.

I made a small plate that attached to the seat back bracket that added thickness (1/8) at the contact point on the cam (where the wear is). You will have to drill and tap threads for it to hold. Use counter-sunk screws so the screws don't damage the seat bottom fabric as the seat back moves fore/aft. I tried JB Weld but the shear forces were too large and it separated so drilling and tapping the holes (3) were the way to go.

OR, someone on this site makes a new cam. I'm not sure if a new bracket is also made.

The seat back angle adjustment cams on the inside of those knurled knobs gets worn and rounded; then the seat back hinge will sometimes flex and slip off the cam.  I was able to find those knurled knobs new 10+ years ago.  Solved my problem.

My seat was broken like that when I got my plane.  Had a mechanic carefully remove the upholstery and weld in a support to hold it back together as @N201MKTurbo suggested.  I think the seats were built pretty light. It was a pretty cheap fix.

The cam issues others mentioned usually result in the seat leaning back on both sides (just reclining) but doesn’t sound like what you described?
