NotarPilot Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 Just a tidbit of information I thought I'd share about something I learned while flying my new 34 year old J model back to the Socialist Republic of the State of California... While switching tanks, with the heater on, I noticed the fuel selector to be very hard to turn. Once I turned the heater off and let the fuel selector lever cool for about 5 minutes it was much easier to turn. I'm guessing the heater, which blows right over the lever, is heating the metal and causing it to expand, thereby being much harder to turn. In my experience, if you turn the heater off 5 minutes before switching tanks it should be much easier to turn the lever. Quote
bd32322 Posted March 25, 2012 Report Posted March 25, 2012 never had that problem - and I am always running the heater full blast in the north east Quote
