I am in the process of trying to get a prebuy started on our future 231 purchase. Of course I will need an annual done after the purchase is done. We are considering Dugosh in Kerrville. Can anyone share their experiences with them?

Thank you in advance,

Walt

My one and so far only experience with them has been for the most part pretty positive. They did what I asked.  they worked on my plane during the mapa convention so they were extremly busy but did find some time to fit me in. I also called them over to help troubleshoot a problem once over the phone and they were more than happy to help me. The only negatives I can say is that I wanted to buy a part from them and kept getting a run around for a few months and finally gave up and got it from someone else.

And they don’t take credit cards.

But for the most part i was happy.

Confidence in your airplane begins and depends on having confidence in the MSC maintaining it. Dugosh is the epitome of what a MSC should be. You'd be very hard pressed to find anyone better than Dugosh.  You can trust Ronnie Kramer and his team.

Thanks Guys,

I appreicate your insights. Did you find them to be any more expensive than local shops? Of course there is a time benefit when you have mechanics who work on only one aircraft type. But was their parts prices and hourly labor any more expensive than industry standards?

There prices are reasonable for the value they provide.

Dugosh is a great MSC and I think your annual should be done as part of the sale, not after the sale.

You pay base labor, seller pays for Squawks affecting airworthiness.

Also, as a general rule of thumb, your best overall support for Mooneys will be found in Texas.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dugosh.

We recently did a prepurchase with them and it usually runs around $900.  If everything passes on the prebuy then they can easily combine it into an annual for the normal annual cost which is usually around $2k for an uncomplicated annual.  This will save you the prebuy cost if you are close to annual.

Way back in the day, when MAC was too busy actually building airplanes, they used to send repair work over to Dugosh. I think if the factory trusts them, you can too.

Took my 75F there for annual last yer, taking her back again next month.  Ronnie and Vannette have both been very helpful and responsive with information, questions, and concerns.  During last year's annual we added shoulder harnesses and LED landing light and they took care of all the required paperwork.  The aircraft hasn't skipped a beat (knock on wood) this year.
