Anybody see one of these panel mods before?

This is on a '67 F model. It is composit. Was this a one off or was there a company making these at one point? Possibly out of a later model mooney?

This is a now defunct Mod Works STC.... state of the art in 1997. Including the EDM 1000, they wanted and exorbitant $8500 to perform this mod. I suspect this STC blew away with the hurricane. I doubt you can get this anywhere now.

That just looks like a 201 panel fiberglassed over with some recesses and angles added in.

Thanks guys, I'm looking this plane at the moment. Definately a nice panel, fit and finish of the glare sheild needs a rework though. We'll see what happens!

Panel looks pretty cool, but the down side is it's nearly impossible to upgrade in the future. It's great if that's exactly the avionics package you want, but these days I suspect most want a better GPS and more displays. Something to consider if you buy this plane and hope to upgrade avionics someday. You're likely looking at a whole new panel. Not the end of the world, but a fair extra expense. However, since this is a vintage F, you're light years ahead of the original panel like I had in my F, so... it's all good as long as you budget.

Yup. My plan is to just take the KLN 94 and the one king com out, move the audio panel to where the com radio is now and install a 430.

Yes - I've seen one of these - in an aircraft with a bad engine for sale.  It was at W00 - Freeway Airport, in Maryland maybe an year and a half to two years ago - on either an F or J model - I forget which.

Since Mooney panels are not structural, it *could* be possible to modify that one if you find a tech that is good with composite fabrication/repair.  I don't think there would be a huge regulatory concern if it is worked correctly.

I agree with John....make darn sure the STC paperwork is in order!

She's had a very interesting career, especially with regard to Mooneys.  I like the idea of the TCM IO-360ES engine on an E/F/J Mooney and the composite wing.
