Mike Busch has a procedure of ring flush of using mix of 1 gallon Varsol (mineral spirits), 1 gallon Xylene (dimethylbenzene), 2 quarts Aeroshell W100. Its a hydro locking procedure, but you are hydrolocking it by moving the prop by hand. DO NOT run your engine with ring flush mix. Quote

It supposedly helps clean things up. What do the smart people here think, apart from it being obviously an unapproved approach. But I guess so is Camguard in turbocharged engines. Is Camguard unapproved for use in turbocharged engines?? Quote

Interestingly Continental used it, and actually required it, in an optional improved warranty program for 1 or 2 years with new engines in order to collect some good data. But nothing has ever been published or publicly released to date that I know of. 1 Quote
tmo Posted November 4, 2022 Report Posted November 4, 2022 Practical evidence from a sample of one TSIO-360 says it does not hurt. (I was trying to be funny in the previous post, sorry about that) 1 Quote
