RLCarter Posted May 16, 2022 Report Posted May 16, 2022 My E had all new glass installed prior to my purchase, the only benefit to thicker glass on side windows is noise reduction (possibly), a thicker windscreen on the other hand has the added safety in the event of a bird strike. As far as extra effort I don’t think it’s an issue due to the the side windows are installed
