Michael Williams Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 Northbay based Mooney C, with leaky left wing tank. Prefer NOT fly it to Minnesota or somewhere far away for repair...any California shops do this repair? Also some suggesting installing bladders instead, some even have longer range installs. Any Mooniac with info on either CA shops for leap patches or re-seal...OR fuel bladder replacement? Sure appreciate the local or regional info. Thanks Quote
carusoam Posted March 18, 2022 Report Posted March 18, 2022 How does troutdale Oregon sound? There are four centers of excellence doing this type of work… Houston, and Florida are the other two… Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

Call Greg at Advanced Aircraft in Troutdale. Or call Top Gun in Stockton and have them tell you to call Greg. Or read the previous threads on this that say to call Greg. All roads lead to Greg. 2 Quote
ZuluZulu Posted March 19, 2022 Report Posted March 19, 2022 I was going to go to Troutdale, but then I found out Coast (an MSC) is doing this work at MYF and is willing to stand behind it. If I lived in NorCal I'd probably just go to Troutdale but living in SoCal, MYF is a lot more convenient. I'm scheduled for May, I'll let you know how it goes. Until then, PM me if you'd like contact info. @Michael Williams 2 Quote

Could have had an A model .. removeable tanks, patch 'em if they ever develop a leak .. few hours work. Al Mooney built the A model (his last airplane - they all had wood wings) some guy from Beechcraft who was notorious for the straight model 35's inflight problems ... aluminized the M20 and delivered you guys the theory of the "wet wing". Have never ending fun. 1 1 Quote
