Push to Talk issues

Im having issues when I use to pilots push to talk button. The volume is perfect hering ATC and also my copilot but when I push the button I get static and my voice is super loud in my headset.... any ideas?

Have you tried a different headset? 

Can your copilot position transmit?  Is it the same from that position?

Is it the same on both radios?  If it's only one radio, it could be the side-tone needs adjustment...

Not an avionics guy....

Check the solder on the key line. Maybe wiggle it around and see if you hear a difference.

I almost have that problem, when I get close to the airport ATC gives me instructions that's the time my wife is screaming in the head set and I can't hear ATC

Sounds like you're talking about the "sidetone" volume.  Depends on the radio, I know the GNS 530 has a menu option to adjust the sidetone volume.
