I think Charlie Melot (Zephyr) likes regular XC but id use what he recommends. Many, if not a majority, of engine shops recommend XC blue. We did a factory engine and Lycoming was adamant about straight mineral oil. Quote
RobertE Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Just one word of caution. Yes, it should take no more than a few hours to break in your engine. That was my experience 2 overhauls ago. But on my latest it took somewhere between 30 and 50. Same procedure, different result. I can't explain why. Quote
