Or consider going with red...

It doesn’t blend in very well....

Kind of stands out more...

Especially when they aren’t seated properly...

Could you not polish it like some do with their hubs?

Tom

Consider that a polished fuel cap will be a reflective glare source when the sun is just right (which Murphy says will happen a lot).

I have polished caps and it has never been a problem.

Hah.  The FBO just called me this morning and said they found my fuel cap near the main runway.  I'll grab it on Friday.  I don't feel too bad about ordering a new one from @OSUAV8TER, since I'm sure it's banged up, but we'll see if it's still serviceable.

If it is, I may have an extra fuel cap.  Given my track record, I may need it in another couple years

No joke, I keep an extra fuel cap in my AOG bag. I've heard stories of the plungers breaking or in your case, leaving it off and riding off. It may be a little over kill for an AOG bag but it's a little silly to be grounded because of a fuel cap.

You have a picture? Any extra maintenance, how often do you have to polish it?

I’ve only polished them one time two years ago and they’re still fine, but I keep it hangared.
