65eTurbo Posted July 9, 2019 Report Posted July 9, 2019 Last night after landing I noticed my fuel pressure gauge was pegged. Turning the boost pump off brought it back to 30 psi but 30 seconds after flipping the pump on again the gauge suddenly pegged again. Fuel flow shows a spike as it pegged but then flow comes back to normal as the fuel injection system does its job. Any quick ideas on the cause? I'm assuming there is some kind of relief valve in the pump that is sticking. Haven't looked at this parts manual yet. Quote
N201MKTurbo Posted July 9, 2019 Report Posted July 9, 2019 The dukes pump has a pressure regulator that bypasses excess flow around the pump. It is just a disk over a hole with a spring pressing on the disk the spring is backed by threaded disk that is screwed in and out to adjust the pressure. There is a label disk over the adjustment disk that is epoxied in place so you cannot change the adjustment. It is likely that there is some debris in there blocking the bypass passage. Hangar elves (fairies for the politically incorrect) would chip the epoxy off, disassemble the regulator, clean it out, reassemble it and adjust the pressure using your fuel pressure gauge and apply new epoxy. 65eTurbo Posted July 9, 2019 Author Report Posted July 9, 2019 Cool! That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you. BTW, what kind of turbo system is on your 201? Quote
