gsxrpilot Posted May 15, 2019 Report Posted May 15, 2019 Does this formula work with my MB engine? And can you break down the formula for me? (9 X 13.7 / 210) 9 - gph 13.7 - ? 210 - ? Thanks. Quote

Yes,13.7 is the multiplier for 7.5:1 pistons, and 210 HP. Good for all K’s except the 220 HP Encore.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 1 1 Quote

carusoam Posted May 15, 2019 Report Posted May 15, 2019 The %hp calculation is highly dependent on the compression ratio of the pistons/cylinder combination... Fortunately the CR for our planes is easy to look up in our engine specs... Nothing better than having Mr. Kortopates deliver that message for an M20K. Best regards, -a- 2 Quote
Northern Mooniac Posted July 29, 2019 Report Posted July 29, 2019 Just throwing my hat int he ring here. io-360-lb, intercooler, gami's, tempest fine wire plugs, jpi 830. What i've found best on my engine is to do the big pull and keep my TIT under 1600, generally around 1590. engine temps are fantastic, runs smoother, and last flight was true at around 155 on the aspen and 9.9gph. Can't complain around that! Quote

Northern Mooniac Posted July 30, 2019 Report Posted July 30, 2019 My process is not to actually "pull" my mixture, but I turn it back REALLY fast unti my TIT peaks and comes back down, then I adjust to get my tit around 1590. Purrs like a kitten. 1 Quote
