gacoon Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 Removing vacuum system on J model. What is best way to disable vacuum warning in annuciator light panel? Quote
Rick Junkin Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 Remove the bulb...? Sorry, that wasn't helpful but I couldn't resist. Cheers, Rick 1 Quote
RLCarter Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 Removing the bulb makes it in-op, it would be better to disable the system by killing the power to it Quote

So I think I'd remove the bulb, kill power to it like Robert said, and paint the light cover with flat black paint, and make sure your mechanic noted that the annunciator had been deactivated and removed. ArtVandelay Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 Since I removed the vacuum system, ram air, and added JPI 900 so did not need the fuel low/voltage annunciations anymore, I removed the whole thing, added separate lights for gear down and gear unsafe annunciations. Quote
Steve W Posted October 4, 2018 Report Posted October 4, 2018 From the service manual and electrical diagram(in my 1994 at least) the low and high vacuum signals are independent and switch to a high voltage to make the light illuminate. So, find the switch and tie both the lines to ground and it should be happy. Or just cut the switch out and leave them floating as it appears that's what happens when the sensor detects neither high nor low. Quote
