Have you gone through your logs to see if there was a chain swap noted along the way? Was it ever replaced? Or no history of ever lubing it? Something seems odd about it... BrianW Posted January 7, 2018 Author Report Posted January 7, 2018 (edited) My plane had about 3500 hours on the airframe. There were no specific entries regarding lube of the trim chain. However the old chain was lubricated and moved freely. Perhaps after the decades of holding the tail up and vibrating during flight, maybe it just became worn out.
