Take photos of baby in the plane, in the back pack, and at KFFA...

repeat often. :)

Best regards,

FFA!!  Need to go there again.  Last time was 2011 in July in my former 1967 M20F.  The Missile under my ownership, and possibly in its entire life, has never been to FFA.  A pilgramage all pilots should try to make!

Seth,

Sounds like you have the situation well in hand. Are you enroute?

We plan to leave Saturday morning early and return on Sunday evening or Monday early morning depending on weather.

Flights went well!  Worst part was sweating on the ground prior to takeoff. We were worried about weather in NC so we left early on Saturday.

Weather was terrible on Saturday night with nasty thunderstorms, hail, and our hotel had a power outage for a few hours.  I saw the line approaching and called RDU to have the plane moved into a hanger.

Sunday was a beautiful day.  We took off at 7:57 PM for an easy ride home.

Claire (baby) didn't want to keep her ear muffs on at first.  She did have earplugs as well.  She as very excited as she has grown to love airplanes like her daddy.  Midway through the flight, she lost the battle with Mommy and kept her ear muffs on.

On the return flight, she had the ear plugs in just before the engine start, and during the runup she took the earmuffs from her lap and tried to put them on, so my wife did so for her, and she fell asleep during he climb.

She had two great first flight.

1:45 with the engine on during the trip down (with an approach into RDU due to a cloud layer at 1000 feet and 1:44 back home, VFR the entire way.

When filing, I put in the remarks Baby on board, altitude changes restricted to 500 FPM, Dulles East Side Transition requested.

I got the East side transition (between Dulles and the FRZ) both ways and this saved time as I did not have to fly to the north and west before heading South departing, or flying north then east then south coming back around the DC region. Also, I wanted to stay clear of the Appalachian mountains to have a less bumpy ride.

It was a great first flight,

That "Where is Baby" book is a good one. My son is 20 months old, and still requests it about once a week. If you don't already have it, try to find a book called, "Away in My Airplane". There was about a month that my son wanted to read that book multiple times every day.

Glad to hear everyone traveled well.

My wife just sent this to me.  At the FBO at RDU as I was installing the car seat into the car plane side and transferring our bags.

Yeah. She's starting to twist and bend the flip parts.  Just a matter of time until the first one is ripped off.

Glad it was a good flight!  Very lucky with the weather.  We were flexible which helped.  We had two nights reserved at the hotel, but ended up only using one.
