GeorgePerry Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 http://www.aopa.org/Community-and-Events/AOPA-Fly-In/2016/Beaufort-Fly-In I'll be there Friday-Sunday. OBTW American Bonanza Society is doing a 30 plane fly in Thursday afternoon and us Mooney pilots can't be outdone by the "Bo-Folks" :-) Hope to see lots of Mooney's. Quote
Seth Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 I would love to but it looks like the timing is not going to work out for me. It's the closest to my location - was hoping to make it. Still might! If we can also arrange a 30 (even a 9, 12, or 15) plane fly in for Thursday, I may be able to partake in that, stay the night, and head home on Friday - just throwing it out there. -Seth Quote
mooneygirl Posted April 21, 2016 Report Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) We will have a Mooney Ambassador display and hopefully have a few folks to help the point person in the booth. If anyone else can help shoot me an email : MooneyAmbassadors@charter.net Edited April 21, 2016 by mooneygirl Quote
GeorgePerry Posted April 25, 2016 Author Report Posted April 25, 2016 I guess no one saw my note about the Bonanza pilots doing a 30 plane fly in. It'd be a shame if there are more Bo's- and Mo's at the fly in! To "motivate" the group any Mooney Pilot that fly's in to Beaufort, gets a brand new AOPA hat! Just come see me at the Air Safety Institute booth... Hope to see you there Quote
midlifeflyer Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 I'm planning to be there Friday PM and leave Saturday PM. I'll be volunteering Saturday morning. 1 Quote
Mooneymite Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 No thanks. I am not a fan of MRH airport. Particularly not the FBO. When I need to be in that area, I land elsewhere and drive. YMMV. Quote
DrBill Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 I'm arriving Friday afternoon with my A&P and will help at the booth. George, I'll look you up, we met at the booth at SSI. Bill 2 Quote
Amelia Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 What is the ramp/parking fee situation? Suspended for the party, maybe? Quote
ELT Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 Hi All, I am based at KMRH. My hanger #49 is serving as a meet/rest area for the Carolina Aero Club. Mooneys are welcome too. The FBO situation has improved and is now in line with most "for profit" FBOs. The ramp fee is waved for this event. If you wish to contact me or have questions use my cell 919.819.3451. Jerry 5TJ Posted April 26, 2016 Report Posted April 26, 2016 I would go but I am headed for Longview TX that same weekend for Don Maxwell's Mooney Maintenance clinic. Quote

No fee's...the party is on AOPA. Staff parking aircraft know that Mooney's don't like the grass, so if you get there Friday for the party you should be able to get hard surface parking Quote
StevenL757 Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 I would love to be there, but won't be out of avionics upgrade for another 3 to 4 weeks. After upgrade, am certainly planning to be at the Michigan event though... Quote
MyNameIsNobody Posted May 1, 2016 Report Posted May 1, 2016 Don't miss going to Hunting Island State park and climbing the lighthouse/walking beach. BEAUTIFUL. Enjoy! Quote
Amelia Posted May 2, 2016 Report Posted May 2, 2016 I hope to be there. Found a couch-surfing host to save me from tenting. 2 Quote
DrBill Posted May 17, 2016 Report Posted May 17, 2016 i just had to cancel due to family reasons.. I have a room at the CORE CREEK LODGE for Friday night that I will get nothing back if cancelled. Anyone want it ??? I'l cancel it on Thursday if I get no takers. (PM me if interested) I hope all enjoy it. Unfortunately the WX forcast is not good. Bill Quote

DrBill Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 room is taken and I may have a volunteer to bring the canopy. My son asked us to watch our grandson on Sat. so my wife said OK. Given showers on Sat it made the decision easy even if it costs me $90. Bill Quote
Hank Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 If the weather is good enough to reach Beaufort, I'm going to CHS. If not, there's always lunch at EUF. Quote
Seth Posted May 20, 2016 Report Posted May 20, 2016 Have fun at the fly in! Wish I could make it. -Seth Quote
