Marauder Posted January 19, 2016 Report Posted January 19, 2016 I fly in and out of NYC, but my traffic appears on my 530 and the Lynx, if I'm looking at my iPad it's already too late... That's what I mean by don't care. Foreflight is for medium to long range planning/navigation so seeing the weather picture develop for your route is important and thus I want weather integration. Frankly not sure why I would need traffic on my iPad at all when its on two screens in the panel with aural alerts... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I agree the iPad will become secondary for traffic and weather once I can get ADS-B in displayed on my Aspen and GTN. After I had the WX-500 installed last year, I really like having the information displayed right on the display I am navigating from. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
gsengle Posted January 19, 2016 Author Report Posted January 19, 2016 I like weather on my primary GPS navigator for tactical reasons. Ditto traffic. But I also want weather (not traffic) on my iPad/foreflight for the big picture, destination weather.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

Tony Armour Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 (edited) Lynx NGT9000 playing on Foreflight. Edited February 7, 2016 by Tony Armour Quote
LANCECASPER Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 That's awesome! It looks like the all-in-one transponder is the device that most people will use in getting ADS-B in and out.. According to the guys on Beechtalk, Garmin is supposed to make a big announcement tomorrow regarding a GTX-335 and GTX-345. They will be all in one boxes and will provide ADS-B in and out. Quote
mike_elliott Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 And the Lynx plays just as nice with a GNS430W, Aspen PDF1000, WingX and FlyQ. I am hoping a future firmware upgrade will allow wifi in to download flight plans like flightstream. All the components are in place to do it, except maybe cooperation from Garmin 2 Quote

I don't think I agree with this statement, although I am looking forward to seeing Garmin's new boxes. Quote

I was just saying that since so many people have held off until now, I think the 2-in-1 (transponder plus ads-b out)Â or 3-in-1Â (transponder plus ads-b in/out) solution that this type of transponder offers will be what most people choose. But I could be wrong. . Â time will tell. The old type transponders are probably close to replacement anyway and if you can get ads-b in and/or out along with a nice new solid state transponder, that seems like a good solution for a lot of people that aren't interested in a complete panel re-do. Rather aggrivating. I put the 9000 in the right stack, mistake...should have moved something over and put it above the 540. I will probably do that especially if it doesn't start playing nice with the 540. It's only money, damn it !! :-) too much angle and it's a long way to reach and touch one small dot. 1 Quote
mike_elliott Posted February 7, 2016 Report Posted February 7, 2016 It does deserve to be on the top of the left stack L3 makes a really high quality product. Just looking at the quality of the installation hardware was impressive. Their interoperability and feature list was what convinced me. They set a high bar for Garmin to try to exceed. Quote
Tony Armour Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 I do have an e-mail copy of the manual if anyone needs it to keep on an iPad. If anyone wants it shoot me a pm with your email. Quote
Marauder Posted February 9, 2016 Report Posted February 9, 2016 Any of you L3 owners have this unit attached to an Aspen? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
