It's not waking distance close but there is an MSC at W00, Freeway Aviation.

I'm sure someone local can coordinate a ride if you want to drop it off (I can depending on other responsibilities - like a baby due in a week).

Freeway is a short field but being a MSC, there are dozens of Mooney's in and out of there on a daily basis - just watch your speed in the pattern. It is in the SFRA so you'll have to be okay operating in that airspace.

Air Repair at KESN takes care of a buddy's mooney and Webers is another MSC at KLNS in PA.

Congrats on the J and hope to see you at a fly in!

 I don't know!  ...but

I got a sign off and did some flight training with nate krobath in a Mooney 20 E , before I took delivery of mine.. He has Blue Ridge Aviation (540) 246-9407 . They also have a F available I believe . They have a shop there which works on their aircraft.

There is a great avionic guy there too, right in the hanger next to the flight school, and Dave Matthews keeps his jet there, so its really not a "dead" place.

That is just a skip and a hop from your airport.

at SHD

Shenandoah Valley airport.

I hope this helps

Just referenced the Mooney web site again to make sure but they also list a Mooney Service Center in Lynchburg (KLYH). I was going to do an annual there eventually but for now I am pretty comfortable with my mechanic in Virginia Beach

Long shot here seeing as this is 5 years late...who is/was your mechanic in Virginia Beach? Do they specialize in Mooney’s?

Let’s ask @Seth... He is closer to that area than I am....

The other Anthony (Smut) is still around here often... he may chime in sometime... he only logged out a few hours ago...

@Matt Lindeman, I don't know where you're based, but there's an MSC (Weber) in Lancaster, PA at LNS. While I've never used them (because I haven't done an annual in the area yet - last annual was done by Dugosh in Kerrville, TX), a couple of folks at JYO have and say good things about them.

Thanks for the info Ricky. I’ll be based out of PVG or CPK in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach. I may use Weber or AGL as a “local” MSC. I found a potential plane in Indiana. Any MSCs or sound Mooney shops around that area for a pre buy?
