Dood Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 Hello, I'm looking for a nose-dragger gas motored for my M20J and to move a PA28. Can U help me, the only one I found is from aircraft spruce, http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/gasdragger.php but it cost around $1500 in USA, but $3000 in france. Have U some other website ? thanks Cyrille
Seth Posted March 15, 2015 Report Posted March 15, 2015 https://www.redlineaviation.com Its an electric motor tow and much lighter than a gasoline tow. Shipping should be a tad more and we have a few pilot on here that use them. Also, it is small enough to be transported with you in the plane. If my old power tow 35 bites the dust, I'll order this or make a tow out of an old riding lawnmower. -Seth
Dood Posted March 16, 2015 Author Report Posted March 16, 2015 Thanks Seth, But the airfield has nothing to reload an electric motor tow, that's why I need a gas powered. Cyrille
StinkBug Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 The battery is tiny, just bring it home when it needs a charge.
Houman Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 I would recommand the EZ-tug... http://www.powertow.com/40-EZ-Aircraft-Tug-155500-up-to-5500-lbs-Includes-Adaptors_p_14.html I bought a used one here from Clarence that he had for sale from one of his clients, after a bit of mainteance it works great. One thing though, it dos'nt tow well on ice or slippery snow, even with the tire chains, 1 tire just dos'nt have enough gripp to pull 2000 pounds on a hill in snow, in summer it works awsome...
Hank Posted March 22, 2015 Report Posted March 22, 2015 The battery is tiny, just bring it home when it needs a charge. Or get a small solar charger.
Dood Posted March 22, 2015 Author Report Posted March 22, 2015 I have two plane to move, a PA28 and my M20J. EZ-Tug seems needed different adaptor for mooney & piper. I think it won't be very convenient

DaV8or Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I like that Rainman can use his to put his K on the ceiling! Save a lot of floor space too. No Kidding! That sucker is powerful and can climb walls like Spiderman!
DaV8or Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I always thought it would be fun to get an older used ATV and adapt it to be a tug. That way you would have a fun toy to zip around the airport with! Something like this- 2002 Honda Listed on my Craigslist for $1300. Just add tow bar. Way more fun than a lawnmower, golf cart or gas tug.
