Parker_Woodruff Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 Send Parker a PM. I think he is back in Texas now. Just a quick Southwest flight down I-35 and I can be there. Quote
schule Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 If you ask real nice David might be willing to do a local check out and then you fly home solo. Quote
StinkBug Posted January 15, 2015 Author Report Posted January 15, 2015 I found someone! Thanks everyone! Quote

StinkBug Posted January 16, 2015 Author Report Posted January 16, 2015 This place is amazing. Seems Mooney people are just awesome people. I've now met 3 people from this forum and all have been super generous and helpful. 2 Quote
kmyfm20s Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 So how's the progress going are you on your way back? I had a 30kts tail wind tonight on the what will be the last segment of your flight. Maybe a Mooney escort is in order for you to bring the new bird home:) Quote
StinkBug Posted January 16, 2015 Author Report Posted January 16, 2015 I'm in el Paso now at casa de RocketAviator. Talk about a nice guy! Gonna do the rest of the trip tomorrow. 2 Quote

Marauder Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 N6719N. Yesterday's flight showed up on there. http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N6719N Looks like you picked up some tail winds at the end of the flight. Look what else I found. All Mooneys currently in the system. Quote
StinkBug Posted January 16, 2015 Author Report Posted January 16, 2015 I should be part of that map within the hour! Quote
StinkBug Posted January 17, 2015 Author Report Posted January 17, 2015 Well I hear from friends that Flight aware didn't pick me up today, but I did make the rest of the trip home without incident. It was actually a very uneventful flight. Most exciting thing was watching someone in a Baron overtake me on the same course, 500' below. I was on flight following, and they were IFR so we both knew we were there, was just a cool view with some mountains underneath us. Here's a couple pics from the trip. 2 Quote
Marauder Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Glad to hear you made it safely back. Who flew with you? Now you need to post some more pictures off your new plane! Including some of the spinner! Quote
chrisk Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Glad it worked out and you were not stuck in San Antonio. It sounds like it was a nice trip, especially in your new to you plane. Quote
carusoam Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 really cool when you realize how much the Barron driver paid to go just a little faster..! Quote
StinkBug Posted January 17, 2015 Author Report Posted January 17, 2015 Yeah, ATC said he had a 40kt overtake, which is pretty significant, but I was burning 8.4gph, and I'm sure he was more than double that. I couldn't afford to fly at all if I had fuel burn like that. Quote
ArtVandelay Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Yeah, ATC said he had a 40kt overtake, which is pretty significant, but I was burning 8.4gph, and I'm sure he was more than double that. fantom Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 really cool when you realize how much the Barron driver paid to go just a little faster..! -a– ....and be more comfortable, haul more stuff, maybe even be pressurized, and you can't overlook the ramp appeal. Quote
