KSMooniac Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I've learned of an M20E that is close to getting cut up for scrap and I wanted to put out some feelers for anyone looking for a potential project, or in need of significant parts from what looks like a pretty decent airframe. It was involved in a gear collapse and the owner just decided to sell it instead of fixing it from what I understand. There is very minor damage. The buyer got it just to harvest the engine and some instruments for an RV project, so the rest of the airframe is up for grabs. I believe it would be fixable, but of course without an engine and much of the panel it won't be cheap... I'm interested in the cabin section for some development work, but I'd hate to see a potentially airworthy plane get cut. So, I want to put this out there and see (a) if anyone wants a project, or ( anyone wants a good wing or other airframe parts. I'm on the fence about getting involved with it, but if someone can save it or needs parts, then I'll be willing to put some effort into the deal. Please PM me if you have any interest, and do it quickly because the saws are coming to it this week!

KSMooniac Posted November 3, 2014 Author Report Posted November 3, 2014 Small world indeed! Turns out he is going to get it tomorrow, cut the wings, and drag it home. I'll help him with selling some of the good/easy stuff to Mooney folks that need it. Too bad it couldn't fly again, but it doesn't make economic sense unfortunately.
