Mcstealth Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Well. I guess I lost it or it was taken, along with my pilots license. How do I replace it? I'm in line to replace my drivers license, and haven't yet researched how to replace the pilots. I thought of you guys first. Thanks in advance David Quote
chrisk Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/certificate_replacement/ I believe the FAA can also fax you a copy of our certificate for use until the physical copy arrives. Quote
Seth Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Boy you guys are fast! It's an online form as stated above. Sorry you have to go through this whole process. -Seth Quote

1964-M20E Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Sorry to hear about you loosing your wallet. Did you stop by the Mooney factory? That could explain the loss of your wallet. 3 Quote

Mcstealth Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 okay. I need to know my certificate number to apply for a replacement with the online service. I don't know it(lesson learned) Is it the ID number that is on my Third Class Medical? please advise Quote

I don't know it(lesson learned) Is it the ID number that is on my Third Class Medical? please advise A long time ago they were using your social security number. At some point in the 90s you could use an anonymous number. If you got your license up to the early 90s it is probably your SSN unless you changed it. Quote
lsearcy Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Same thinbg happened to me last Friday when my wallet was stolen out of my locker at the gym. I called the FSDO and he gave me the number to call and get a temporary certificate. I called and the temporary certificate was emailed to me in 2 minutes so I could fly to Nashville on Sunday. Great service from the Baton Rouge FSDO. I had my certificate number written in my log book so i did not need to look it up. Quote
Hank Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 My cert number is written in front of my logbook, about to become Logbook#1. It's also linked to my AOPA Safety Foundation account and prints on all of my certificates (saved as pdf files, not paper). Good luck replacing everything! 1 Quote
Marauder Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Hank brings up another good point. I think some of my endorsements in my log books have my pilot number on them. Quote
Mcstealth Posted October 28, 2014 Author Report Posted October 28, 2014 Okay. Shameful question. Where is my FSDO? KERV is my home base. Thanks David Quote
chrisk Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 I think the closest would be San Antonio. Yes, I just checked the map. http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/sat/local_more/media/serviceareasat.pdf Quote
1964-M20E Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Check wings or AOPA safety foundation certificates they may have your PPL # on them. 1 Quote

ALL of my endorsements have my certificate number on them! This memory is fresh from my September flight review & HP endorsement, courtesy of a 182 with a failing alternator. Quote

Marauder Posted October 28, 2014 Report Posted October 28, 2014 Another place to look for your cert number is in your airplane logs. If you did any owner work you were supposed to use your cert number for the return to service sign off. Quote
carusoam Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 David is going to need to get a log book for that. Get adventurous, call the FAA and wind your way through the recorded messages. You'll be surprised at how easy it will be. Take notes if your memory is aged. Notes will help if you get disconnected. Used to be able to look up all the pilot details on line including name and address.... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
Piloto Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 You should have called 911, FBI and CIA. Someone from ISIS may have your identity now. 1 Quote

Best regards, -a- I did wander through the maze for the FAA phone system, only to get the succinct message saying "there was no one to take the call at that time." The system took me back to the menu at that time. I did look up through the FAA online system my name, but it did not show my Certificate number. All my other details were visible. Go figure. carusoam Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/airmen_services/ It appears you will need to set up an online account first... Wait till you have challenges with you class III medical. The notes become a few pages long. Best regards, -a- Quote
