BorealOne Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Oh the places you'll go! I just passed the 1000h on type in my Ovation. Here's what that looks like on a map. 3
Guest Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Congratulations Larry! With all of the northern flying do you still put it on skis in winter? Clarence
aaronk25 Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 I love the trip into MN.....looks like you went to Willmar.....
carusoam Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 Congratulations! Go Great Northern O! -a-
mulro767 Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 The Bahamas run looks pretty cool! Is there a recap of that journey in the forums somewhere? Bahamas in 2015 in my Mooney! 1
rbridges Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 that's awesome. I was happy to pass 350 total just recently. 2
Parker_Woodruff Posted September 19, 2014 Report Posted September 19, 2014 This is what Mooneys were made for. 1
JohnB Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 Way to go!! Great milestone for you and your Mooney! And... How did you make that cool map of all of your flights?
bonal Posted September 21, 2014 Report Posted September 21, 2014 This is what is so wonderful about what we do with our freedom to fly. No matter how many hours and what type aircraft you choose to fly the horizon will always offer new and exciting adventures. Yesterday on a routine shopping trip over the hill I made one of the best landings I have ever made. Sometimes it's the little things that bring the most joy. Congrats on your 1000 hours but in looking at your map you have missed out on some great flying west of the Rocky Mountains. Hope your next 1000 brings you out our way.
BorealOne Posted September 22, 2014 Author Report Posted September 22, 2014 Thanks all - it's been a great 1000h. Just fueled up for another run...it never gets old. Clarence, keep working on that ski-plane conversion STC! Bahamas trip - didn't write that up, but should have. Great adventures down to Cat Island and back, with several stops along the way. Great little pilot's hide away called the 'Island HoppInn' a short walk from the runway there - flew in from Orlando and stayed a week over Xmas with my wife and two daughters. Private beach, great local vibe, and real not touristy Bahamas culture. Highly recommended! Easy hops to other islands for sight-seeing. The map was done in LogTenPro - there's an option that exports your flight routes to Google Earth. Fun way to look at a logbook! And yeah, there's a lot of empty yet on my map. Looking forward to putting more yellow pins in great locations! Thanks for all the encouragement, larry
The-sky-captain Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 Well done! I'm a couple hours shy of hitting 1000 hours in my J. Looking forward to it. 2
Guest Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Larry, I'll look into the ski conversion, but did find floats for you. If Piper could do it I'm sure Mooney can too! Clarence
aviatoreb Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 Larry, I'll look into the ski conversion, but did find floats for you. If Piper could do it I'm sure Mooney can too! Clarence That's silly.
Guest Posted September 25, 2014 Report Posted September 25, 2014 It just shows how versatile a high performance low wing really is. Clarence
