PTK Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 Garmin. True to to the core leadership. I can't even imagine where we in GA would be without Garmin!
Oscar Avalle Posted May 20, 2014 Report Posted May 20, 2014 I just ordered the GDL 39 3D now it makes sense.
Schinderhannes Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Garmin. True to to the core leadership. I can't even imagine where we in GA would be without Garmin! Apollo (UPSAT) had WAAS before Garmin...
N601RX Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 And Foreflight already has altitude info. If it wasn't for Foreflight and Wingx forcing Garmins hand we would still be paying $1500 for 495's. Garmin would have never released an ipad app unless forced to. 2
PTK Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Yup, you guys are right. The only thing Garmin brought us was WAAS gps navigators!

Marauder Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Yup, you guys are right. The only thing Garmin brought us was WAAS! Peter, Peter, Peter... The Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) is an air navigation aid developed by the Federal Aviation Administration (prime contractor Raytheon Company) to augment the Global Positioning System (GPS), with the goal of improving its accuracy, integrity, and availability. Next thing you will be telling us they invented the internet. 1
PTK Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Umm, Chris, I was being sarcastic because someone mentioned Apollo! Besides the internet was invented by Al Gore. As far as the Pilot app goes it's the app of all apps! The cat's meow as we say in New Joeisy! Foreflight, wingx and flyq couldn't hold a candle. Pale in comparison! I'm speaking from personal experience having flown with all of them. 1
Marauder Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 U As far as the Pilot app goes it's the app of all apps! The cat's meow as we say in New Joeisy! Foreflight, wingx and flyq couldn't hold a candle. Pale in comparison! Now you gone off and done it! I actually agree with you on something! 1
PTK Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 Now you gone off and done it! I actually agree with you on something! You've shown steady improvement Chris. You continue on this trend and you'll be fine! 1
bnicolette Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 If it wasn't for Foreflight and Wingx forcing Garmins hand we would still be paying $1500 for 495's. Garmin would have never released an ipad app unless forced to. Right on!! Just think there are poor folks out there that actually paid $3K for a 796 from Garmin. AND are still paying enormous fees to have charts & safe taxi, terrain, etc........ Things that we just about get for free with the aforementioned iPad apps. Ain't competition great?! Best thing since sliced bread! 1
Marauder Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 You've shown steady improvement Chris. You continue on this trend and you'll be fine! But before we go too much further, where is the Garmin Kool-Aid I'm suppose to drink first?
PTK Posted May 23, 2014 Report Posted May 23, 2014 I'm afraid it doesn't exist Chris. There's plenty of Aspen and Camguard flavors going around though!
