Happened last fall, and the vibration was almost too faint to feel. Almost

You can see the fence post that the wingtip rubbed during a bit of manoeuvering by the gas pumps. I used silicone to plug the holes and prevent moisture from getting into the wing.  Yhe local AME looked it over and give his OK for airworthiness.  It did not cause me any problems over the last 5 months, but it has been hard to look at.  It holds memories of a lack of attention.

Replacement of the plastic cover was about $20.00.  The wing skin parts from Mooney were about .75 AMU.  Now it is being properly repaired.  Pics tell the story.

Lesson learned (the hard way).

Well, I would say that for a 45 year old airplane that appears to be tied-up outside, your inner spars and ribs look very clean!

Done.  Repaired.  I even helped with the painting and putting the aileron back on.  Back to being beautiful again.
