N601RX Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Anyone know anything about this plane? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1978-Mooney-M20J-201-with-Collins-Century-IIB-Auto-Pilot-N201LM-/261345418486?forcerrptr=true&hash=item3cd9669cf6&item=261345418486&pt=Motors_Aircraft Quote
aaronk25 Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Engine is almost timed out and it's got a old old panel. 30k for overhaul and 20k in the panel so how does 100k sound for a price? I would be so negative about the time since major overhaul, but a lot of these birds sit and don't get flown frequently, pre sale. Nice paint though. . ....and tank reseal is a plus. Quote
jetdriven Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 What's the deal with these black on white paint jobs? This one is particularly a house wife creation. Skinny gold stripes and a flat waterline. Quote
scottfromiowa Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 I like the way she decorates. Black is beautiful...(says the guy with a black bike, car(s) SUV(s)...and a Green plane 1 Quote
Jamie Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Â This one is particularly a house wife creation. Â lol. I'd never heard that before and yet it made perfect sense when I saw it. Quote
Marauder Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 It is strange how people put their money into their planes. I spend on avionics and engine more than cosmetics. This plane more cosmetics and less on avionics. The incident database comes up clean on it. So that is a plus. Quote
jetdriven Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 lol. I'd never heard that before and yet it made perfect sense when I saw it. It reminds me of a couple airpark houses I saw for sale. The wife, who knows nothing about architecture, wants the bedroom here, the kitchen here, the stairs here. Husband says whatever you want, honey. Pretty soon you have a wierd house that doesnt flow nor is very functional. Quote
Jamie Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Husband says whatever you want, honey. Pretty soon you have a wierd house that doesnt flow nor is very functional. Man... I could totally segue from that to Obamacare, but people get all excited when I mention the outside world. 1 Quote
fantom Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Man... I could totally segue from that to Obamacare, but people get all excited when I mention the outside world. Â Did you ever stop to think that on this Mooney site, that most don't give a flying rat's ass what you think about Obamacare? 2 Quote
Alan Fox Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 I have a panel on mine , (Beech) and the paint sucks , My Mooney has great paint , and lacks in the panel , When you are flying it the paint does nothing for you , but the panel does..... When you are selling , the Paint makes for an easy sale over the Avionics.....Go Figure.... Alan Fox Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Is a Flying rats ass watertight??? Quote
Jamie Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Did you ever stop to think that on this Mooney site, that most don't give a flying rat's ass what you think about Obamacare? Nope. See... you're wrong, and I can prove it. If what you said were true, nothing off topic would get a response. The comment would get tossed out into the aether and no one would say anything. But that's not what happens. A great many people apparently "give a rat's ass". They can't help it. Conversations drift. It's the nature of conversation. If you truely don't have any rat's asses to spare, don't comment. 2 Quote
Marauder Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Jamie -- we have been down these paths before. Nothing but ugliness results. After all the name calling is done, we end up at the same place -- talking about Mooneys... Quote
Jamie Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 You're right. And without a trace of butthurt, I offer the following. Please (!) if you'd rather not read the occasional off topic comment from me, do this: At the extreme upper right hand corner of the page, next to "Sign Out", you'll see your login name. Click on your login name, a dialog will pop up. Click on the "Manage Ignore Prefs" link. On that page, in the box below "Add a new user to my list", type "Jamie", and check the "Posts" option. Then press "Save Changes". This simple action is all you need to do to never, ever see an off topic comment (from me, anyway). It's why its there and what it's for. Guys, really. I will make the random funny (to me, anyway) comment. I totally understand if that's not something you'd like to read. You can ignore me and I won't care. It's not rude, it's not offensive, you won't hurt my feelings, it doesn't cost anything... everyone wins. 1 Quote

O.K....Any other way that could have been phrased without making it all personal and nasty? Of course....... Like moths to a flame... I am going to choose to be a butterfly. 1 Quote
