  1. That is already on the Cirrus Turbos. You need to hit an acknowledgement button periodically when you’re in rare air territory. The autoland capability is pretty sophisticated from the demo that Cirrus showed. It is literally a one button function and takes care of everything from selecting the airport, communicating, setting the transponder to 7700 to full power and flap management. But then again, for $300k, you’d expect those little extras. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  3. Yes, the dual lock was mounted on the white piece and the white piece had the 3M mounted to it. He then used a tie wrap around the whole thing for additional security. I will look to see if there is any marking on the stuff. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  4. Aircraft Spruce bought the company (Aero Performance) in Harrisburg, PA and they will often shipped east coast orders from that location. You can also stop in and pick stuff up there. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

  6. I forgot I made a video of it. Bruce used tie wraps around the entire piece for additional security on the roll cage. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  7. When Home Depot had these on sale for $149, we cleaned them out. Sportsman Inverter generator. Think it is 1000 watt startup wattage. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  8. Didn’t you get in on the frenzy buy when we bought these? I carry it with me when I’m traveling around in the tundra. It’s a great little generator. Not very heavy and can handle the Reiff Turbo version pre-heater. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Got to see the Aspens today. Will be installing them tomorrow. Looks like they replaced the entire exterior bezel for both units. Can’t tell if the batteries were replaced. Anyone know if they replaced the batteries? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  10. I had a similar issue when I went looking for RG-400. Sent the wrong stuff and then tried to ping me for a restocking fee and return shipping cost. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  11. I tried one of those. Afterwards, it took me hours to get it out of my butt crack. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  12. I’ll find out this weekend when I see the RV boys. Those guys have all the coolest new toys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  13. I have a couple of Allen bikes for the wife and I. They are pricey but fold up quickly and have storage bags to keep the grease off of the seats. If you are used to riding full size road bikes like my wife and I, you will need to mentally adjust to ride, what my wife and I refer to as “clown bikes”. The small size and wheel base does look funny for a guy my size to be riding. But they are comfortable and surprising fast for what they are. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  14. I’m struggling to get the avionics shop to reply to me! Could it be that all of you LAST MINUTE ADS-B compliance guys have my shop owner kidnapped? I’ll post pictures when I get the units back. I will be pretty disappointed if they didn’t refresh the silk screening. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  15. It’s about time we got onto a topic I want to read about! Personally I was getting bored reading “I’ve never been in a Mooney before, not sure I can fit” threads. Looking forward to the new “I’ve never retired before, not sure I can afford to” threads. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  16. The Max supports an audio output for altitude call outs. This requires a wire to be run to the audio panel. I also believe the shop needs to update the configuration module that remained in the plane. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro
  17. They already have a mag with the onboard alternator. Saw one being installed on an RV a couple of weeks ago. Whether it makes it to the certified market is a question mark. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  18. Just an update on mine. Dropped the Aspens off at the avionics shop on 11/11/2019 and received an email from the shop on 12/5/2019 that they arrived at the shop. (3 weeks and 3 days, including a U.S. holiday).
  19. Here is a picture of the Aspen VSI. It disappears when there is no vertical movement. When it does appear, it shows the VS both numerically and visually on the right side of the HSI.
  20. In contrast, installing an Aspen PFD does allow the VSI removal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

  23. Amen brother! If I ever sell my Mooney, she ain't ever appearing here.
  24. Jerry's efforts sounded like a 1 man crusade. And maybe that is the issue. A company needs to have customer concentric culture to compete in today's market. Especially in highly competitive markets. It's great that he was this way, but obviously it didn't get translated down to his organization. I think it was Bob B and I who were looking over an Acclaim's cowl pretty closely at Sun N Fun (We were taking notes of the cowl openings to compare to Sabremech's cowl). No one from Mooney walked up to us. Heck, Bob & I could have been dropping gold bars as we walked around and they still wouldn't have noticed... Don't get me wrong. I have loved my Mooney for the 28 years I have owned her. But when it comes to feeling love from the factory, I just don't see it. Heck, Lycoming has sent me more stuff over the years than Mooney has.
  25. Perhaps, but a number of those 177 RGs either have the "Navomatic" or no autopilot at all. Hopefully this issue for Mooneys will be resolved when the TruTrak or Garmin autopilot become available.
