  1. Not necessarily Mooney specific but we've used Security Aviation (Chris) at Hawthorne. Nice people and fair pricing.
  2. If you need to power USB devices from a 12 or 24V cig lighter socket, consider this one: https://www.pilotlights.net/dual-usb-dual-voltage-12-24vdc-ultra-fast-charger-48a
  3. Hello. Selling a left-over part from our recent C-model restoration. These are the original Mooney sun visor hardware. $100 includes shipping in the US. I'll list a few other parts later today.... Thanks.
  4. We restored a '70 C model and still have the old pilot-side and co-pilot side instrument panel covers (the plastic overlays). It might be in better shape than yours. I've attached some images. Let me know if you want them. Robert
  5. Yes, I used the fast stack system in a recent panel upgrade. The cable quality is really high - fully shielded, quality connectors, etc.. Tim at Approach Systems provides great support. It's really important to have a firm idea of the avionics you plan to use. Any changes along the way may make things complicated. Some radios are pin-compatible allowing you to use an existing cable (such as the Avidyne IFD440 and the Garmin 430W - as well as many audio panels), but most are not. The connectors and hub probably used more space behind the panel than a traditional wire harness but it does allow for some changes and upgrades over time, such as adding new radios, G5's, etc... It was a tight fit on our restoration but it all worked out nicely. I selected the Fast Stack system because I expected to do future radio upgrades in the future and this system makes it pretty easy. If that is part of your plan, it's a good choice. Good luck with your panel upgrade
  6. On our 1970 C-model, the gear down (green) indicator in the panel had dirty contacts. Sometimes it would light and sometimes not. Disassembly and cleaning resolved the issue for us.
  7. N9500V has these mods: 201 Windshield 201 cowling, induction system and oil cooler relocation 201 wingtips Flap, Aileron, wingroot and dorsal fairings 201 NACA dorsal fin air intake Inner gear doors All those are nice and were done by prior owners. But probably the best mod was the panel work to make it a much easier use and more modern airplane. If I was starting over again I'd probably do the panel and interior first. (Interior by Aero Comfort, San Antonio). (we removed 65 lb or old radios - KX170b's, DME, Loran, ADF, etc...)
  8. Just as a follow-up, the very small zerks on our '70 M20C are Alemite 3018 - they have threads. I believe the Alemite 3019 are the press-in types. I found them online at LocknLube.
  9. Anyone find a good source for the smaller 1/8" zerk fittings for the main gear? These are the tiny grease fittings on the upper arms, mounted to the fuselage bottom. They're not the 1/4 standard zerks found elsewhere on the gear. They're probably smaller due to the confined space. They're on the '70 C model and I've also seen them on early J's. They may be Alemite 3018s but I'm not sure. Thanks.
  10. Is this the type you're looking for?
  11. I’m pretty sure I have one in my parts bin. Send me a PM and I’ll reply tomorrow after I look for it. Robert
  12. Yes, they did the yokes. The blue tape is protecting the PTT buttons while we finish installing placards, etc.
  13. A few more images of our '70 M20C. Thank you Aero Comfort for the nice work on the seats and side panels.
  14. Here's what we did with our '70 M20C:
  15. Also try Gann Aviation for hoses - fast turnaround and good prices. It's always best to send the hose shop your old ones, if possible, so you get an exact copy.... https://www.gannaviation.com/hose-production
  16. These fit: https://www.pilotlights.net/led-bulb-beacon-position-light-ra7512-ra-7512-w1290-nav-bulb-replacement-3w-12v-24v-bay15s
  17. Yep. I've got one removed from our 1970 M20C. $200
  18. What type of bulb base (socket) does this lamp use?
  19. Another option is here: https://www.pilotlights.net/led-light-strips-light-channel-high-output-directional-led-12vdc-or-24vdc Regarding LED lighting and dimmers, most hi power LEDs are best controlled by PWM as others pointed out. They will dim with resistive dimmers like those in older aircraft but with some limitations. High power LEDs have a minimum operating voltage that impacts performance. When a resistive dimmers drops the voltage to about 9V, they’ll flicker and turn off. That’s usually around 40% or so of the LED output. In some case that works out OK. The only way to know for sure is to try the LED strip with your existing dimmer. If it doesn’t meet your needs you can change out the dimmer.
  20. I'd agree in general for most products. The typical car chargers are worse than you can imagine - poor designs and no filtering at all. This one was specifically tested in the lab and in aircraft across the radio spectrum used in aviation.
  21. I’ll take it. Check your PMs. Thanks
  22. Here's another option - 14V and 28V compatible. Tested and passed FCC limits on RFI. It works. Dual USB CLA 14V or 28V
  23. I've got a '70 C model and am looking for the same type of files. Thanks.
  24. I"m looking for an electric 14V directional gyro (full electric, not vacuum). Thanks.
  25. Interested in seeing the panel you have. Thanks.
