  1. Sorry if I misled anyone. This app is not a clock to track fuel changes or log times during flight. It is "in a sense" a flight recorder. It records all the data from your flight i.e. ground time, flight time, takeoff time, landing time and distance, alt, hdg, and gs. It will provide you a more acurrate flight time (time in the air not taxiing) than a hobbs meter. I do not have any affiliation with it just though it was unique and the wife though it was cool that you can "watch" your flight on the computer through google earth.
  2. I keep all the planes logs at the house unless the plane is getting maintenance done. My flight log I always keep in my flight bag. I have an electronic flight log on my computer as well.
  3. Just used the cloudahoy app today and have decided I will use it on every flight. It's easy to use on the ipad, you just hit start then go back to your flying app of choice. At the end of your flight you hit stop. Then it downloads the data to their website (ehich you need an account). On their site you can get a debrief of your flight, flight time broken into ground time and true flight time, your route on a google earth map, along with your groundspeed, alt, and hdging. Truely a very useful tool. Easier to record flight time than jotting down hobbs time or starting your stopwatch.
  4. Great looking panel and a great set up as well. I like that everything is right there for you. I'm starting to save my penny's to upgrade my panel?
  5. Now that was a true Mooney mission! Congrats!
  6. Very cool!
  7. Only the mt prop is shorter.
  8. An autopilot is on my upgrade list, I'm hoping Avidyne will hurry up with the STC on our Mooney's because that is the one I want.
  9. I use Philips 20W50 and Camguard. The planes I rented used 100w. The previous owner used Philips, I've not heard anything bad about it to make me think of changing. I've added Camguard at every oil change because I've only heard and read great things about it.
  10. I saw that too. I've downloaded it and will try it on my next flight. I'll post my thoughts.
  11. My manuals are the same. If there is a newer version I am unaware of it.
  12. Thank you Craig for this site.
  13. Can it be converted to fit with the original windshield?
  14. ^ $8K wow.....I'll keep my $1 screwdriver. I'd rather put that money into my panel.
  15. It sounded like he might have had a few. Oustanding job by ATC staying professional. I think the FAA should follow up with some sort of punishment for this guy.
  16. Jerry, If it is not too much trouble I would like to see internal photos. I find it interesting that there isn't more of an emergency exit plan on our mooney's beyond having a tool to bust out the windows.
  17. The EDM 900 is STC'd to replace all engine instruments including l & r fuel quantity. It costs the same as tne 930 but it is the size of the 830. It is on my wish list. Anyone have one installed yet?
  18. How heavy is the plane? What's it useful load wo fuel? I think it would depend what it has that is expendable, i.e. ADF.
  19. Done. Hope you get good feedback. I would like to read your final paper.
  20. I've tried searching but can not find anything on the inside latch mod. Is this something everyone just fabricates? If you have it can let us all know how you did it or where you got it done. Thanks.
  21. Allsmiles, PM sent
  22. Quote: jetdriven The principal prOblem is you will have same cost, but more weight, cost to install, and two boxes that can fail instead of one.
  23. Jose, I wouldn't be changing the battery, aircraftspuce sells an upconverter that can step up your voltage to 28v just for avionics. The only benefit I can see is that 28v nav/comms are cheaper by around $500. I see that all the garmin radios are capable of both, but I am not planning on putting in garmin. Has anyone installed a step up converter?
  24. Is there a benefit to having either 14v or a 28v? Looking at comms the 28v are cheaper. Is there a benefit to step up to 28v in our older planes. I am looking at upgrading my old Narco radio with a K155 and I can buy an upconverter and 28v radio for the cost of a 14v radio.
