  1. I tried both and at the time I went with foreflight due to its ability to touch and drag your planned route. Which where I am is important due to all the restricted areas. WingX would only let me plan via VOR's or airports, I couldn't plan with my own checkpoints. I think they may have changed that in an update after my free trial expired. I know foreflight works great with or without an internet connection as long as you dowloaded the maps. Since they both have a free trial put them both through the wringer and decide which one fits your needs the best.
  2. Hello, I’m an active duty Marine out here in California. I am not a Marine Pilot just a private pilot. I recently got my complex sign-off from a Marine pilot with a M20J. After flying his plane I am addicted to mooneys. I am currently trying to buy my first plane (of course a mooney). I have already rejected a 76 M20C due to horrible compressions (<50 on 2 of 4) and undocumented structural damage that had been repaired but was substantial. Looking at a 68 M20F next week, wish me luck. I enjoy this site as I am always seeking knowledge on flying. You can never have too much knowledge. I plan on working on my IFR after I find the right plane. I look forward to conversing with all of you and with luck will have my own plane and experiences to share soon.
