    I am all in favor of going through the chamber but really there are two key things. Pulse Ox meter which you check at regular intervals and having two oxygen sources. I would add a third consideration which those with Acclaims, Rockets, etc. can comment on but in my normalized F anything above FL20 produces diminishing returns and the control surfaces are sluggish, when you start getting FL240 and above it is a whole different ball game. For the most part non-turbine GA airplanes don't have hypoxia issues because you just don't get high enough where oxygen happens rapidly.

    Have an EI MVP-50 in mine and couldn't be happier, no experience with JPI but after reading dozens of reviews and forum posts throug the internet decided EI was the better of the two (opinion nothing else).

    Recent MAPA log has article from Jerry Manthay advising not to use tri-flow on the control hinges as they are sealed and it has solvents in them that can cause the seal to rupture. It had some other general lube information as well.

    I have and prefer a Concorde for the reasons stated above.

    Technically you will need an A&P to do a new W&B if you upgrade to a Concorde because of the weight but the actual swap if done by a hanger fairy is about ten minutes of work.

    I would add my oil temp gets high at the higher RPM's and it causes the oil pressure to dance in the yellow. Part of that I think is related to having SWTA cowling with the oil cooler relocation and some poor baffling but for me running a more squared manifold /RPM setting seems to yield same speed/GPH with no side issues. I find every plane is a bit different so what works for one doesn't always work for another.

    You might want to have somebody look at your RayJay set up. I just looked back at some of my old pictures and I get 23 inches at FL210. Nice TAS though I usually top out around 165 knots as my flaps are a little hanky.

    Very cool tail number, I thought the FAA blocked reassignment of N numbers in crashes but would guess you ducked under whenever that change was. God speed Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, The Big Bopper, and Roger Peterson!

    Hi Jamie, It was part of an annual and a bunch of other stuff at Don Maxwells I want to say the whole deal was around $9k but can't recall and it included moving some radios, cutting a new panel, etc.

    I have a MVP50P installed and no complaints after 18 months. I find the ROP/LOP assist a little tricky to use which I am not sure is design or user error, everything else though is great. No feedback I can give on JPI to contrast though.

    I would second that I have never had an issue plugging in at an FBO, though I would suggest calling to verify they have a convenient place to plug in at.

    Hi this is correct I shot an exhaust valve out of the #3 cylinder recently which after rattling around it deposited itself in the turbo (was not operating at the time). Other then a gasket that needed to be replaced to put back together was no turbo damage. I use the TN a couple times a year mostly when the winds favor it. For me it was a must have in my purchase decision and got a really good deal out of the guys at All American Aircraft, couldn't be happier. Other than the valve issue have had no issues.

    Hi, I have a 1967 M20F with a RayJay and have been pretty pleased with it. I true out at about 155-165kts in the FL's if you look N9709M on Flightaware some recent flights that took advantage of some great winds up high. Been no major issues with the turbo in the 2.5yrs I have had it. They are hard to find (I haven't seen one for sale in awhile) and you definitely want to ensure you take it up high to check it produces what it should. I get 24-25 inches at Fl190 generally. Happy to answer any questions but really like the combination.

    I find geographic location matters the most, if I am over South Dakota as example I get great cell coverage up into the FL's versus being around a large city where I often don't get anything after a couple hundred feet. My guess the number of towers than plays a big role as well.

    There are all kinds of stories about all kinds of things. From my perspective there is no need for me to shock cool the engine, not preheat it, not let the oil get into the green prior to taxing, not taking off without the cylinders above 250, etc. so the whole thing becomes a moot point. It is like pulling an airplane around by the tips of the propeller, I am sure half the people here will say its ok; half will disagree. My point is why the hell would you want to do it in the first place when there are so many easier ways of pulling the airplane.

    I put mine on the passenger seat as it makes it easy to see the gauge and futz with it as needed.

    Does anyone know of a LED bulb replacement, the brightness on mine is great but boy do they get hot. Would like a cooler option.

    400' and departure end of the runway. If you are 400' in the middle of the runway you continue to the end and then turn, both conditions need to be met.
