  1. I think prices are going to head down somewhat, but Vref is kind of laughable at least lately. We went to up our insured value on our plane to 160K, and the insurance lady said that it would only Vref for 108k.
  2. Socialized losses, but privatized profits
  3. That's what we get when we roll back some key parts of the Dodd-Frank law.
  4. On the top side of the avionics shelf over against the right side forward cabin wall behind the instrument panel. Or, if you crawl underneath the copilot side and look out board of the heater box it's on top of that metal plate
  5. In fact the latest service letter from Garmin says this much. Under some circumstances you could have an uncommanded or unwanted autopilot induced trim runaway, and pulling the trim circuit breaker does not stop it, you have to pull the auto pilot circuit breaker. All the electric trim circuit breaker does is disable the manual electric trim.
  6. You guys are Measuring something to the nearest half of a percent that the manufacturer says add 5 to 10%
  7. yikes that looks pretty scary. the panels are glued in and often break when removing. And there may be skin replacement here, and it going to get horrifyingly expensive quickly.
  8. Either way. TKS planes get corrosion in wetted areas
  9. I have noticed that TKS fluid corrodes the skin right behind the panel, I think the fluid runs down the Forward part of the wing and stops at the edge of the panel and puddles there but yes I've seen a lot of corrosion there compared to other parts of the air frame. My suggestion is to just rinse the Aircraft off with fresh water before putting it away. when we do the test for the TKS system in the hanger for an annual, the windshield washer fluid gets up on top of the cabin, but that stuff will sit there for three weeks and it won't move it evaporate. Anything that stays that long it's going to corrode. also, you guys better be checking that 1:3 manifold out 2/3 of the way on the wing, because the last plane we had that manifold was leaking and the fluid is running inside the wing and dripping out next to the main gear door but you don't want that stuff loose inside the plane. The manifold in the tail was leaking too, it would run down a Stringer and then corrode a steel bracket that held the down spring end loop
  10. no. they are more balanced than new FC3's.
  11. I have a 450 hour since new roller case that's been re-certified, and is ready to go.
  12. The FC2 or FC3 desser retread is even better than the new tire and is like less than half the cost. Those with Airstop tubes you have a bulletproof combo.
  13. My first question is why didn't they put it above the VSI so it's in your line of sight?
  14. No corrrosion protection. It has the anti scuff additive TPP. Which actually causes corrosion.
  15. fire him
  16. we dont know. Its not a Michelin Airstop, its not an aeroclassic leakguard, its not a Goodyear.
  17. Tubes are kinda scary right now. We just replaced a tube on an A36 with 50 hours on it. Complete garbage, its falling apart.
  18. Isn't that one in Norwood MA the one that missed the rear spar corrosion?
  19. Oh it's far worse
  20. The Imron AF400 codes don't cross over to anything else than anybody makes. So unless you have somebody actually mix AF400 up the code in the book doesn't really matter
  21. its a standard 3/8" rubber fuel injection hose from Autozone. slips on over the fuel drain nipple.
  22. We just had a client fear that we take care of his airplane, and it was pouring smoke and combustion Byproducts out of the breather tube so bad it looked like an airshow plane while he was taxiing in from a local flight. Compression tester number four was weird it would either show 30 or 79, and jiggling the prop a little bit could make it jump back-and-forth. We soaked it overnight in B12 and it got a little better but it was still doing it, so we pulled the cylinder and found this.
  23. The GI275 install manual shows it's compatible with the JPI rpm sensor. But it's also compatible with the UMA rpm sender. Which is about half the cost. They appear the same.
  24. It's funny because when you get the Engine from the factory it says major overhaul right there on the first page. Funny how their service instruction says that if you don't calibrate the airframe engine gauges it's not overhauled.
