Not to undermine their efforts but why not go this route if they are not already? NORSEE (Non-Required Safety Enhancing Equipment) program by the FAA and can be installed in any Part 23 aircraft or Part 27/29 helicopter with only a “Minor Alteration” logbook entry by an A&P or IA

Ok I didn't look at it that closely. Hey under this I say an autopilot is a non-required safety enhancing equipment.

Sounds goo I have a working STEC 30 so I'm not interested but I'm sure there are plenty of the older planes out there with just the PC systems or no system at all that might be interested. If I still had my 64 E I'd be interested or if I needed to do a really major repair on the STEC. So you are looking at $7,000 plus installation?

I was just forwarded this for those who maybe looking for a certified panel mount solution for $400 plus installation. I just sent the manufacturer a message asking about setting up a discount code similar to the Sensorcon. So maybe we can get some traction with other manufactures. I don't think you can get the current levels on the accessory pad mounted alternators. I think they are only good for maybe 20A max but I could be wrong. I think these alternators are primarily for backup if you loose the main so you can get to an airport safely operating necessary avionics and lights. Although yes if the price was reasonable some type of emergency icing equipment would be nice. It would make flying in IMC a little less daunting at times. I think a boot type would probably be the best IMHO. How about a wing heater that feeds off of the muffler shroud piped into the leading edge of the wings not sure if you could get enough BTUs to do any good though.

Should that castle nut have a cotter pin?? I do like the attention to detail and all new hardware sweet. Much better than some who just paint over everything.

Sweet looks great. I'll start saving my schillings so in about 10 years I can have mine redone. Interior looks nice but in south Louisiana the black leather would eat you alive without air conditioning.

My first E model was butt ugly but it flew and it was paid for and besides Stitch liked it that way. -
Mine came in yesterday. Turned it on for the ride to work this morning never got over 3ppm in rush hour traffic 4 lanes wide. I did walk around my vehicle this morning with it on and when I was near the exhaust pipe it shot up to well over 100ppm and the alarm went off so I know it works. Looking forward to using in in the plane.

Nothing really against you bizniss majors but without us engineers all you can do is buy and sell things. Engineers make things happen, they design buildings, space vehicles, planes, trains, automobiles, ships, water systems, sewer systems, electrical power systems so when you turn on the light switch at your house the lights come on and when you need to go to the grocery the car is there and the roads are there and the meat does not spoil at the grocery store before you get there. Without engineers modern life would pale in comparison to what we have today. Think about life in the mid 1600's and even then though most likely not called engineers people like engineers were working to improve things. Oh and if you didn't get it already I'm an engineer too. JMHO -

Sophie Welcome aboard we accept any aviators out there especially ones with an affinity for Mooney airplanes. Post some pics of the plane along with the stats. first off make sure you get a good pre-purchase inspection done by a good mechanic that you trust and that knows Mooneys Tell us a little about yourself. do you have your private pilot license yet? how many years have you been flying? do you have your instrument rating? how many hours do you have? what is your flight mission? what part of the country do you live? -

When I am taxiing my IFD540 with APX322 states ground operation in the XPNDR window on the 540. I have not had any complaints from ATC and I assume it is working correctly. I have manual gear so I do not have squat switches or the like. -
Anybody live in or close to Idaho Falls? I may have a job assignment up there. The Philly assignment fell though. Thinking about flying myself there and using commercial for periodic trips home and then fly myself home at the end.

Air forms in Alaska makes the new dog houses I put one on my 64 E worked nice pretty reasonable too.

They are referring to the ability to fly into the back country and rescue said moose and bring it to a better location like the freezer. So what exactly are they saying can you haul 1,200lbs of what ever and the pilot and fuel to get there? 1,200 lbs useful load and full fuel pretty good but I know it has a hell of an engine up front. The station air you get approximately 3,600 gross, 2,280 empty and 793 with full fuel 88 gallons. So no moose carrying today unless you plan on just putting it in and using a tug to move it around the airport. Like everything and any vehicle the details will get you.

Agreed from henceforth on all references to airports shall be made with the city and the airport identifier for easy location by other MS users. Penalty for failure to to reference the city and the identifier shall be ....................... five (5) 400nm cross country flights in a fixed gear C or P brand aircraft with 180HP or less with a head wind.

If you take the dogs with you sounds like you need a Cherokee 6 or a Saratoga. The Saratoga is a retractable Cherokee 6 for the most part and some other change as well. These are flying Chevy suburbans perfect for what you want to do and bring the dogs along. Cost wise you might be able to get on in your budget but it would probably be stretched very tightly. How old are the dogs? Minus the dogs C through current new production would do fine. Next thing is what avionics you want to have at your disposal for the flight. -

You should have bought the ford alternator from him and took all the guts and put it into the original Money alternator case. I ran into similar thing with the generator form my 64 E model I found some brushes and changed them which worked for a while then I went to Plane Power alternator.
