  1. We let the free ten hours run out. There is nothing compelling about it to justify the activation cost.
  2. I'm 5'4" and sit comfortably, albeit with the height cranked all the way up. During cruise I'm even able to move the seat back a few notches.
  3. First time the Chinese attempted to copy an American design.
  4. That is one sexy aircraft.
  5. So many differing opinions here. One said that 50 amps was too much.
  6. All good ideas here, but let me ask this. For a 12 volt system, what are the maximum amps that can be used for running it off GPU for an hour?
  7. This I have got to see. All that and "Carbon Free"? I suppose it's going to use electric motors. I'll file this one next to the Uber Flying Taxi, which should have been in service by now.
  8. Not so sure about your information. I sent my unit in for a calibration in January of 2020 and about a month ago it started flashing EOL.
  9. I'll run down to Radio Shack and get one today.
  10. I have to connect ground power using this charger. How high on the AMPS can I go for about an hour?
  11. I just responded to another post here on MS for the same issue. I've had this problem twice, the first time was related to the master connectors, the second was the voltage regulator. IMG_2793.MOV
  12. Been there twice, with two different causes. The first was already mentioned, the terminals on the master needed to be cleaned. The second time turned out to be the voltage regulator. IMG_2793.MOV
  13. In 2017 my J was involved in an incident which required a major repair to the wing, on both sides. When the shop that was doing the repair was able to locate a wing from a K model, I got all excited because I'd have larger tanks - but it wasn't meant to be. While it's a simple mechanical process to connect the fuselage from a J to a K wing, the FAA didn't quite see it that way. The shop said that a DER would be required to come up with drawings and all kinds of analysis for the switch, and that the process would not be cheap. While it seems simple enough to do, there are factors involved such as the fuel gauges as well as W&B issues, among other things. In the end, the shop removed sections of the K wing and placed them on the damaged one. Four years later, the plane still flies better than it did before the incident.
  14. In the final assembly, connectors were placed between the Red Box and the lines, thus eliminating any immediate 90 degree limitation.
  15. When I replaced the OEM Hoskins transducer several years ago I went with the Cube. It was highly accurate but failed after about 15 months. I then had my A&P replace it with another Cube and it too failed within two years. At that point I called the manufacturer to ask why so many failures. They asked me to take a picture of where the unit was mounted, which was on the engine block similar to this Bonanza. They replied that the location was bad because the vibration was shaking the unit apart. With that information in hand my A&P installed a new unit and relocated it to the firewall, where it's been working flawlessly for the past five years. I found a picture from when my engine was being reinstalled after its overhaul. The arrow is pointing to its location. Your registration and mine are two off, yet my serial number is 71 higher. Go figure.
  16. The offer applies to the new device, which I purchased. Not sure what the difference is between the older and newer, the site doesn't present any comparisons.
  17. This is the way I see it. Don't hem 'n haw, just do it and enjoy this great flying machine.
  18. I agree with what you said, but would the seller say no deal if the buyer proposed June 15th instead? Probably not.
  19. Assuming that it has been sitting for several years, it appears that the tanks are still sealed since the gauges both show something in them. What 100LL turns into over six years I don't know. I am curious why the owner set a hard date to make the deal when it's been sitting there for years and he probably had no intention of selling it at this very time had you not tracked him down. Good work Colombo.
  20. Just my way of staying current.
  21. Such nice comments from readers of the article.
  22. How did everyone get through exam item #9?
  23. I'll put this to an end... Xtrmedia, if you want to drive down to my home drome, I'll take you for a ride. PM me to setup a date.
