  1. I actually upgraded before I bought this Mooney , but it was such a steal I couldn't pass it up.......The novelty of owning two planes has worn off.....
  2. Well I had lunch today with Joe at the table , and he has recovered , well and is in good spirits, He basically in so many words told he didn't like my post or my opinion or respect me very much.......And I am glad he is here to dislike me.......
  3. Is Hose' smiling in that pic , because he is in a Mooney ? or because of the hot ladyfriend in the cockpit , (possibly a stranger photobombing him ) ? or our interesting banter on Mooneyspace......... I believe Mike should do a poll......
  4. I'm so confused.....
  5. 65 E TTAF 3982 , TTE 1455 TSMOH 99 , TTP 3982 TSPOH 149 , ECI is due in one hour is currently scheduled , Annual is due 12/14 , IFR and Pitot due 9/14 , New engine hoses 2012 , skytech 149NL starter 2012 , Has Interav alternator conversion , Gear legs were converted from Goodyear to Lord in 2012 with new shock discs installed at that time....It has the much sought after SWTA cowl mod , paint is a 8 to 9 out of ten , Shot in Imron.....Seats recovered in Vinyl .....Dual Narco Mark 12s both with glideslope , has PS6000MS audio , King KT71 transponder , and M3 GPS ....AK450 ELT .. also has FS450 Fuel flow , and GEM 610 Monitor , This plane sat pickled in a hanger from 2002 until 2011 , I have flown all the time on the engine since overhaul.....It has the 64 gallon O&N bladders........for more info call Alan 856 419 5209.......
  6. Doh.... I went to 26N last night a 2100 hrs local........Had flight following too....
  7. @ Tony , the Fuel flow is a pressure gage.....
  8. Ok , I thought you were talking about the lobe.......I have seen cams that have grooves in the bearing...., a groove there would not be load critical........
  9. You cant groove the bearing surface on the cam , because the cam has to spin the lifter , and that has to do with the contact point between the cam and lifter....
  10. This is a very simple system , no return , one line into the mechanical pump , one line from the pump to the servo , which is basically a metering jet , and one line from the servo to the spider , and six lines to each injector.....it draws its gage pressure from the spider , meaning there is high pressure between the spider and the pump , ...... the spider has a diaphragm in it , and my guess (and its only a guess , is the diaphragm collapsed in the spider......There is also a pressure diaphragm on the mechanical , that may also have failed....
  11. Very well could be a spider , better hope it is as this is the least expensive link in the chain....
  12. Its a shame , on continentals you can replace lifters without splitting the case....
  13. Hose , It had about 100 hours on it , but it sat in a hanger for 20 years with 0 hours on it.........Actually I am pretty pleased with the performance (maintenance wise ) of this aircraft all things considered......It took me about 20 minutes to realize the plane was flying slow due to the step dropping down........The things you imagine in your head when you don't know are pretty scary......
  14. OK it was just a vacuum pump , I landed to make sure the vacuum pump was still bolted to the back of the engine , then flew two more legs....With my stratus 2 with ahars , and ordered a rebuilt pump from spruce for 215.00 .....
  15. For those interested It is on the bench at Lancaster , and the volume was a user setting that was set wrong.....
  16. Yes but that parachute has saved over a hundred people........Put a price on that..
  17. The placemat and glass are included...
  18. Very clean well cared for SL30 , with tray see pics , Call Alan 856 419 5209.....
  19. A roller lifter will not spall , It is a superior design , it is the difference between a friction bearing and a non friction bearing , In automotive we used to have cam lobe failures , in 30 years of working on cars , I have NEVER seen a roller lifter destroy a cam , I have seen MANY conventional lifters destroy cams on cars.......It is ABSOLUTELY a fix for the Lycoming cam problem......
  20. Not picking sides , but the Mooney is not a bad annual to perform , you trade off removing the interior over removing the belly skins......trust me the belly skins are a much easier task.....the Beech interior is put on aluminum skin that (oil cans) into channels.....It is an engineering masterpiece , but a pain in the ass to remove , (easy as hell to install) ..... from a maintenance standpoint , the Mooney is not hard to work on..... Mechanics tend to like what they are familiar with , and shun what they are not..... Also people will compare a 47 Beech , to a 67 Mooney , that's just stupid.......
  21. I got kicked off for two weeks once.....
  22. Different planes , different missions......I have both , like em both.. Do I prefer one over the other???? Yea.......
  23. Some have failed form the factory for the last 50 years .......Instead of blaming Wilmar or another shop , sometimes we have to accept the fact that things can and do fail , even if everything is done right......Doesn't make an easy pill to swallow , but new lifters fail just as often as reground.....
