  1. There is a thread here somewhere on this exact topic including dimension and materials, I think? Possibly even a list of Mooney owner purchased organizers... -a-
  2. This is the weirdest question that never goes away. (Who propagates this stuff anyway?) Mooneys have short legs, not Mooney pilots. (park next to a Cirrus for a good demonstration) Trying one on doesn't cost anything. (except you run the danger of picking up a strong addiction to efficient speed (mph or kias). (m/hr-gal....) Of course, I'm 6.00’, my Ovation was delivered with pedal extenders, and I raise the seat for optimized view level... Take that back to Beech club... ( I don't think they care though). I think the statement "I don't fit" is easier to go with than "efficient speed doesn't mean that much to me"... If height was a REAL issue, you would see threads here that we're titled "I'm 6’ X" tall and this is what I go through to best fit in my Mooney." (but you can't) Enjoy the search function, there has to be a few threads here regarding pilot size over the past few years... Find a Mooney owner near you and ask if you can sit in his plane. Best regards, -a-
  3. The furniture is nice, but the shop floor is incredible! Best regards, -a-
  4. Orange orange everywhere... Thanks Saltaire for the professional's guideline. Best regards, -a-
  5. One member had photos posted a couple years ago. It seems that the older photo galleries seem to be locked up. I think they belonged to George? It is possible that it was done in NJ at AirMods. Hopefully you can get access. Best regards, -a-
  6. Brian, You have trains right? Couldn't remember, it's been a while since pictures were posted. Best regards, -a-
  7. My header seams to have gone all black and gray as well... -a-
  8. Open letter to the two people who began Garmin years ago... Dear Gary and Min (Aka Garmin), Hopefully the educated customers communicating their needs with each other, will get the flexibility that they desire. Smart communicating devices from different manufacturers will be the future. Aspen and WingX seem to embrace all customers. Garmin seems to embrace the customer with the most expendable cash. I don't promote stealing someone else's designs or software. I just want my devices to share my flightplan, overlay my weather and traffic on my displays. The devices sharing my data improves my level of comfort and my level of safety safety. Please stop scrambling my data. Scrambling my data doesn't provide any service. As long as i am flying, I will be primarily considering manufacturers that last, embrace flexibility, and bridge eons of time. I assume that I could afford a new box every year or three or five. The electronics should strive to be able to communicate in the best possible way with each other over generations where possible... Or, Live by the sword.... That's my writing assignment for the day. Best regards, -a-
  9. And locking in a customer for a cycle. Locking out a competitor as well. Avidyne must be giving them the willies.... -a-
  10. My prop IS off for maintenance. Plane won't seem to budge, never mind fly without it. As for the old prop flying without the plane... Best regards, -a-
  11. Have you ever experienced the real empty feeling of losing altitude faster than you can climb? I got that on an IFR training, night flight. Climbing at Vy, and losing a couple hundred fpm in hills over north Jersey, in a C172. Losing altitude in a Rocket over the Rockies, supreme confidence, or wicked big empty feeling? Best regards, -a-
  12. That sounds unusually good for anything, never mind 12 year old things. -a-
  13. Welcome JimO, Well written first post. Best regards, -a-
  14. Number of holes drilled in the seat rails changed somewhere along the way... -a-
  15. That sounds like a veiled, illegal commercial practice. The scrambling doesn't provide any direct benefit to the Garmin does it? Scrambling the signal that other boxes use, is a poor customer service attitude. That could expose Garmin as a pretty poor competitor. If they haven't done that already. That's all I have for a non-legal legal opinion. It's good to have lawyers that fly Mooneys...as usual, I'm just an engineer. No legal background. YMMV. Best regards, -a-
  16. Dan, I think you hit the target dead center. The C's cooling is a limiting factor. The engine is capable of 27 squared, but it gets hot. Full power and full hot drives cyl temps into uncomfortable ranges. Protecting the cylinders by improved cooling, and minimizing high power setting within reason... The J cowling and other similar mods are greatly appreciated by their owners. The C is a very capable bird, but takes more oversight/patience to manage well. BigT, What's your cyl temp red line? If you follow this particular guideline it's acceptable behavior, but not recommended. Is everyone targeting the same 420F and below CHTs? Best regards, -a-
  17. I agreed with Marauder as well, then I saw he called the K a long body. In it's time, the K was a long body... Looks like a worthy machine with a new engine requirement on the near horizon. Good if you're confident in your skills to order up a good factory reman... Does anyone have a price for a rebuilt K engine and turbo? Fly it for a year and decide it's future, after PPI of course. Trust, but verify... Nice entry into the K market. Best regards, -a-
  18. MooneSpace Wheels Exchange, inc.? -a-
  19. Sounds like good instrumentation on your C. Do you have the dog house type box controlling air flow? Look to improve all seals around the engine, cracks in the doghouse. Are your flaps adjustable? Working properly? My experience with a 65C was the single CHT probe and analog gauge. I would see similar behavior as well. The procedure to move from take-off power to climb as soon as practicable seems to apply. At least with the JPI, you are collecting data that you can readily see. When you lower the nose, does 120mph lower the temps enough? How about 130? Best regards, -a-
  20. Thanks for sharing John, very nice! Best regards, -a-
  21. I think George had some complete upgrades done on the East Coast. It's been a while. I'll see if he left his photos up... Best regards, -a-
  22. Sounds familiar. We have a LaGuardia near here as well...KLGA??? Best regards, -a-
  23. The zipcar thing seems interesting. It's a business and it handles the important details of insurance. Putting someone in a strange vehicle, and in a strange place, seems like adding a lot of risk to something that is not that risky usually. I didn't even know I was speeding... I have also got the experience of having a ticket mailed to my address, from France. How would you like to receive a ticket that you were not responsible for initially? Speeding ticket, parking ticket, all the same... They get attached to the registration of the car owner. If zip cars were at airports, membership would be an excellent idea. My small airport has Avis cars on the property. So if you are visiting the NYC area and need a rental.... I can probably hook you up... Best regards, -a-
  24. If you can't watch the whole thing at least skip to the last two or three minutes for scaled T/O and landings. Somebody did a very nice job in scaled modeling and motion. Best regards, -a-
  25. Thanks Don! Learned something new today regarding my Mooney. Thanks to the MooneySpace Community, as well! Best regards, -a-
