  1. How long does it take to get in the green from May-Sept? Come on man. Not my first rodeo.
  2. I am going to go with what the contact at the mfr said...and he said “MASTER for 830”. NOT Avionics master. I posed the question with my model asking Master or Avionics Master. He said MASTER. I joked that everything on the internet is correct so it must be the Avionics Master...He said “Not everything you read on the internet is correct”... The end.
  3. I do mag check/prop cycle before taxi at hanger...
  4. Wow, not just a pilot side door, but a bonus pilot side luggage access. Sweet!
  5. Art I just spoke with JPI and they CONFIRMED should be on the Master NOT the avionics master...
  6. My 830 is on the Master not avionics master. Has a separate breaker.
  7. Primarily weight offset of IO550, but bonus juice is nice.
  8. They are wired in parallel. They sit on a shelf in a box in the tail. I had to make a special “slider” board as my plane didn’t come with one. Without the board extracting the batteries is impossible for mere mortals without damage to the tail. Important to ensure the two retaining fasteners are tight at least at annual as a shift of these in flight would be catastrophic...
  9. I am a sound and out the window pilot on short final and take-off roll. I started confirming rpm/mp as a result of this video when it first came out. I don’t land at runways <3k’. My personal minimum. I didn’t previously do a final confirmation of “killers” Mixture/Trim just prior to taking the runway. Who hasn’t become distracted and started rolling with mixture still pulled for ground ops? I know I have... Accidents are often a chain of events or dominos that breaking the chain will prevent the occurrence or lessen the severity. I have NEVER investigated an “Act of God” incident. There was ALWAYS lessons learned to prevent a future scenario from resulting in personal injury or property damage. Instruction like this is excellent. To watch again is “not a waste of time”.
  10. Made me laugh. One of my dad’s favorite words. Usually uttered/muttered toward my friends and I.
  11. Really nice panel. We installed our 830 on pilot side. Yours would TOTALLY fit great in landscape right of the altimeter. Love the light panel background and the multi-color yokes. VERY tasteful. Enjoy!
  12. So is that bad luck or good luck or both?
  13. While I am saddened by the loss this is not, to me, a tragedy. Life is dangerous. Flying is inherently dangerous. Formation flying more so. Folks died doing what they love and were passionate in pursuing. Beats dying in your bunker as far as I’m concerned. Life is to be lived. Carpe Diem.
  14. Looks like they are ultimately aligned with Gen Re and Berkshire Hathaway. I need to get a little more research before spouting off. Thanks Parker. Yes, USAIG has been “at it” a long time and their paper is all at least “A” rated. I hope to just write checks and NOT ever test their claims response. Scott
  15. Thanks for that Parker. The old assume (making an ass out of u and me) applies to me here. Clears my ever so cloudy conscience a bit...
  16. Better to be along for the ride...than eject....EJECT....EJECT!!!!
  17. Insurance, like the world is complicated. Buckle up. It’s gonna be a wild ride people... As Jerry G said...”What a lonnnnnnng strange trip it’s been”...
  18. Hell, I am still not over the AIG bailout in 2008, but I am insured with them. I wonder if Boeing will be the next deemed to be “to big to fail” and we the people will bail them out as the airline industry continues to directly suffer from the prolonged Covid 19 impact. We shall see.
  19. Thanks to for posting Steven. That photo from below with his blue Mooney on the blue sky is a stunner. A little propaganda in the article, but what ‘cha gonna do. Scott
  20. I had missed Mitch’s thread. Wow. Fantastic! Mitch, thank you for sharing. Please give Mr. Moyer a hearty handshake for me next time you see him. This made my day. Scott
  21. In America cheaters prosper... Those with the most money usually win... and they own airplanes...
  22. Parker already explained that insurance for aviation is purchased by syndicates. They purchase re-insurance to protect themselves for large losses. Reinsurance market is expensive right now with prices increasing to cover catastrophic pay outs and remain solvent. I have no doubt this has “trickled down” into GA. You can gripe and not like it (I agree) all damn day, but you are not going to change the outcome. There are other current events that say “shut up and take it” going on right now. I am enjoying the irony from experiences lived over last four years... So, in summary: This buttercup is sucking it up.
  23. Just talk to Dale E Jr. about those pros... But seriously, I get a duty desk report daily from my carrier that reviews fatality incidents and those with personal injury for GA. It is a rare day that there are not multiple incidents...Very sobering. This doesn’t include property damage claims such as gear ups and drunk drivers plowing into hangers etc...
  24. Is the axe sharp yet? No? Keep grinding...
  25. Arrow I flew did NOT have a handbrake...
