I am perfectly happy with a 1980 Airframe. Aviation ownership has always been expensive. Most don’t choose “the hobby” without a passion to be above it all. Glad you are willing and able. Take up some friends and get the bobber in the water... 200 knots IS a reality for <150k... THAT is awesome.

Competition is great. Lead. Follow or get out of the way... I wonder if Ford will sell any Bronco’s? Cars are kinda yesterday news. SUV’s are THE thing outside of NY City and LA. It’s about seats for butts and stuff in U.S. Are Pick me up trucks going out of style? Not so much where I live in flyover county. Now if I was sitting in traffic commuting for an hour every morning in stop and go traffic. Give me a Tesla with Uber screen for movie and or Aps... I would never live in that hell. Enjoy.

Glad to be dead and buried. For this to occur there needs to be 100% self driving cars. I don’t want to live in that world. More likely there will be added lanes on interstates with a dedicated self driving autonomous lane. A “hub” where a driver will take over and finish the transport to the destination on congested two lane roads. Will they be ALL electric? Not sure why that would be necessary or advantageous.

Mike, I get that you are a Tesla fan boy. Nothing wrong with that. How many quarters has Tesla made a profit in the history of the company? Is there a shortage of oil/fuel in the next 100 years that I am unaware of? Hating on Big three to me is a little like what ChinoGuy rolls. What is the point? Why has thread creep entered into electric cars? Is Tesla making electric engines for aircraft? This thread was about the direction of Mooney the manufacturer and has crept into Cirrus and now Tesla. I get Cirrus. Tesla, not so much... My questions are legitimate. I am NOT attacking you. It appeared to me that YOU were attacking the U.S. auto industry. It is clear that electric cars are viable and getting better. That is great. Our Mooney aircraft operate on ICE. It appears that you disagree with ICE engines and want electric to replace them. I do not. The market will pick who wins, unless the government chooses for us. If we care about the environment why aren’t diesel semis operating on Natural Gas? Why hasn’t a lead alternative been certified?

Interesting to see the “All in for electric” in Car & Driver and here on Mooneyspace. Not my thing. I get that the acceleration is amazing, but I am meh to that...to a degree. Oil prices are very reasonable due to North American ability to frack. I love the sound of an ICE. Compared to electric there is just no contest for me. I am all about competition and welcome electric cars, but not buying the environmental angle with the electric grid/supply in U.S. The range issue and ability to quickly recharge (everywhere) is another issue that makes electric a meh. Not an electric hater, but definitely an ICE lover.

Put in Cobra’s switch covers (couldn’t get the Master, what’s the secret to that one?) and put a new placard for fuel selector. Put a compass in panel where the EDM700 came out of...

Our super clock battery failed and we sent in. It was “not able to be repaired due to being to old” so we got a credit toward a new one. Combination Volt/Amp EI going on far right of panel at annual so it will be bookend EI Superclock and voltmeter. Should maybe gain another pound of UL with pulling of fuel flow and separate amp and volt meters. I like the idiot light if it goes to discharge on the EI unit and the digital vs. analog that we have now.

Fathers Day Golf with my son...

Yup, one word and “you’re out” (like Kramer laying down a Benjamin). Still able to follow Mooneyspace and emote. Better for all if I just stay here and share content about our Missile. Have been to Indiana/Arkansas and Wisconsin so far. Upgraded the dual G5 installation with vacuum removal. The S-Tec 20 and system 60pss work fantastic with the G5’s. Just upgraded EDM700 to the 830. Really like that upgrade adding MP/RPM right in front of pilot. Purchased fuel flow harness as we can use existing totalizer and integrate fuel flow into 830. Will probably go landscape with that install. Plane is just a joy to fly. I land full flaps and just like my E except knots instead of MPH for numbers. E was heavy on trim just like Missile. No difference in landing characteristics. I go to idle and let it come down at 80. Round out and let it settle in. Love it! We have a UL of 1111. Life is good. Missile=Awesome
