Jetrn replied to Paul_K's topic in West Coast Mooney Club
I am based out of Rio Vista, would be happy to take you up. -
Baspartsales.com has one. Call them directly they probably give you a better price then going to the ebay store.

I have a pdf copy of poh, mm, and ipc. I’ll email them in the morning, currently at work.

Acclaim M20TN pressurized Mag air filter
Jetrn replied to Aspen2013's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
My plane is in for annual at laser. Quote $459 for filter assembly. Thanks to this post it saved me $350, just ordered the filter assembly from tornado alley. -
the RG24-15 is the correct battery for the plane. The RG24-11m is about 2 inches higher, will fit but the battery box needs modification. The box needs to be modified for the extended tabs and the bracket attached to the battery box lid will need to be removed to accommodate the higher battery. The M battery has an adapter that attaches to the overboard vent.

I live in Vacaville, but the plane (252) is kept in rio vista. I would be willing to take you up.

Trailing edge light bulb part # And lens
Jetrn replied to Chris newton's topic in Modern Mooney Discussion
Also replaced mine with aeroleds. Order ceramic sockets as pictured above. I did not unsolder the pins but just exchanged out the insulators. Mine also were mounted to a stud with a very small locking nut. -
What was the cost of transportation from the airport to the ski resort? uber, taxi, local shuttle? My son has an icon pass and was asking about flying to Mammoth.

I guess 500 hour magneto inspections are important...
Jetrn replied to ragedracer1977's topic in General Mooney Talk
When my plane was AOG in August in Pomona. Kortopates recommended Aero Accessories. My son drop both mags off in the afternoon and were ready for pickup the next morning. -
Interstate commerce.

I am filing for exemption through interstate commerce. It is a 6 month test period. The threshold is greater than 50% of flight hours must be for business; Continuing education units and seminars also count toward the threshold. Bad side of the equation local flights, maintenance flights, and training flights. There is no required minimum amount of flight time during test period. Documentation required business emails, A monthly flight log, FBO and fuel receipts, CE unit certificates, purchase offer for rental properties (can be low ball offer). Well worth the 6 month hassle to not have to pay California a significant amount of money for Use tax. I don't mind flying to Vegas once a month getting to know the new to me plane and building time.

PIREP on Airspeed Insurance Agency (Parker Woodruff)
Jetrn replied to LANCECASPER's topic in General Mooney Talk
I am a new 252 owner and had zero time in mooneys. He was able to beat the closest quote by $500. Than you once again Parker! -
Thank you all for suggestions, input, and to those who reached out to me privately. A recommended mechanic from west coast mooney group and I worked late into the night on Sunday troubleshooting the problem. We removed the lower plugs and all were very clean. The right wire harness tested bad. The plane is still in kpoc. Since the mags are near the 500 inspection I will send them out for service. I am replacing both wire harness and installing all new tempest fine wire plugs. These items were on my list to be addressed when I got home, unfortunately it happened sooner than later and I wasn't able to do this myself. Since the plane was down, the next morning I had a 3 hour drive to vegas to pick up the family and then it took us 12 hours to drive to the Sacramento area. Traffic was pretty bad on Monday. Thanks once again.

“kortopates”, i have no prior experience with continental. I have tried the procedures in the poh, followed recommendations in earlier posts. Tried starting several different times today as a cold start maybe I’m not priming long enough. Today i have used 3-4 seconds per the Poh. I think the plugs are fowled up possibly. The mags are coming up on there 500hr inspection and I believe the plugs were change a few annuals ago (massive). These were maintenance items i was planning on doing when I got home, change plugs to fine wire and send mags out for inspection.

I don’t recall seeing a log entry or a placard for the skytec start, i will recheck the logs and look for the placard this morning. I do limit my cranking and wait a minute or so before another attempt.
