  1. During my initial flight training I puked while doing steep turns over ewa beach in hawaii. Still have the shirt tail, used it on my first solo out of ford island in pearl harbor.
  2. It was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for taking time out of your day and meeting my family.
  3. Thank you Ken, If I need anything I'll contact you. I have family who live off of verche way and we'll be staying at the el conquistador. If we get an early enough start we should be landing around 2-3pm.
  4. I ordered mine from mcfarlan, their bundle pricing was the cheapest.
  5. Called the office this morning, fuel price is $4.95. Parking fee $5.00 per night. Sent in request for prior permission to land last week and received an approval the next day.
  6. I was just thinking the same, haven't seen him on here in a few months. I have seen a few post on facebook also.
  7. I was wondering if anyone new the fuel price @ La cholla airpark, az. I will be landing there on friday, I have a prior permission to land. Foreflight, airbag, and their website do not show a price. I believe a member of this group lives there but unable to recall the name. Thanks for the help.
  8. Thank you Kortopates! I would be keeping my jpi 900. I like the size but need to move it from the right panel to the left getting tired of leaning over to look at the numbers.
  9. thank you for your insight about the gfc500 autopilot. the autopilot maybe come sooner than the efis system. My attitude indicator acted up on a long descent a few weeks ago, but corrected it's self when back in level flight. if I do have to replace the attitude indicator, i would go with a pair of gi275s. trying to way the cost versus benefit of simplifying the panel. I would like to replace the 430w while there is still a used market for it. would like to know if the g500 can display items from the annunciator panel for low voltage, gear warnings, etc and remove it from the upper panel freeing up space.
  10. For those who have a G500 installed was the annunciator panel incorporated into the G500? Discussing with my IA who does a lot of experimental avionics installs about acquiring used components of a g500 system and doing a self install with his over sight. Current avionics: ki 256, ki 525a, kfc 150, k297 (alt/vs), gma 35, gtn 750. gns 430w, gdl 88, gtx 330es, jpi 900, flight stream 210. For the g500, I am a little confused as to whether or not I need a gad43 to drive the kfc150. I am considering either a gtx345 in panel or remote or a gnc 375. I would also like to replace the gns430w with either gnc 355 or 375. We were discussing a dynon system he had just put into an RV 9, the problem as everyone knows dynon is struggling moving forward with the autopilot certification. Your thoughts and insight would be greatly appreciated as I begin to look into a upgrade pathway.
  11. pm sent for position/ strobe assemblies.
  12. Yesterday the Central Valley smoke layer tops were 6500-7000 on our flight to Pomona from sacramento region. Last Friday the layer was solid ifr from 2500-10500.
  13. Starting 3 year of ownership, Aircraft was maintained by mooney service center in denver for 15 years. I new there would be some catch up maintenance costs. Flight home from colorado, plane would not start after landing in pomona california, no indication of mag problems inflight or startup from previous leg. Overhauled mags, new wires and plugs $3500. Was on my list to do myself in the near future as mags were near the 500 hour mark. First annual with Lasar, base inspection $4500, catch up maintenance; new gear donuts, steering horn linkage rebuild, valve cover gaskets, exhaust gaskets, new o2 bottle, brake linings, 1 break caliper, 1 brake rotor, engine filters, elt battery. My dad and I did the engine work as they had 100% crew turnover, all with no experience with mooneys. Cost $12000ish. Annual august 2021, lone mountain aviation henderson nevada annual combined with engine work from losing #2 cylinder leaving henderson to Tucson in April. Replaced #2,4 cylinder with new, replaced engine mounts, pitot static test, and adjust engine fuel setup, otherwise a clean annual. total bill including base annual of $2700 out the door $11500. I am not impressed with the previous mooney center in colorado, there were maintenance items that should have been addressed. I purchased my plane right out of annual at the time. Some of the items I had planned to address to decrease the cost but the plane had other things in mind. I am otherwise very happy with the performance and feel I am turning a corner with catch up maintenance. Next year I may consider using top gun for my annual and us the IA based in rio vista.
  14. My filter housing also has several repairs. My intake boot was on its last legs, took Mooney's supplier 11 months to ship out. initially was given a 4 month expected ship date.
  15. Aircraft 1988 M20K/ 252. I pay I as go for Maintenance. Annual use 75 hours. Monthly hanger $270. Insurance $2600. Fuel 4.75-5.20 currently in northern California. Trip from Sacramento area to Las Vegas or Los Angeles 2.5 hours roughly 23-28 gallons $150. Oxygen $75 per fill @ fbo's , up front cost to build my transfill system $700, swap tanks at welding shop $40. Oil change every 25 hours $90. Garmin and foreflight subscriptions. I fly locally for fun and destination trips. My wife is strictly a destination flyer and watches movies on her iPad or laptop. She uses O2 every time we fly above 4000ft, her o2 decreases and regularly checks using a pulse ox. So i have to regularly fill the o2 system after a few flights. Family memories priceless.
  16. I have owned my plane now for 3 years, Parker has found me the lowest rate even with zero time in a m20K. My insurance has also decrease this year. Hopefully, the rate has finally settled down.
  17. Do you fly with your wallet in your back pocket? Sitting on the wallet puts pressure on the nerves and changes your posture while sitting.
  18. I live in Vacaville, planes hangered in rio vista. I fly a 252 and have owned it for 3 years now.
  19. @Smith813I am based out of Rio Vista and would be happy to show you my m20K 252. @thinwinga sacramento norcal flyin would be great.
  20. Interested in the whelens if they ever become available. @PilotXhow did the final assembly turn out. Would be interested in a set.
  21. I am based out of Rio Vista, would be happy to take you up.
  22. Baspartsales.com has one. Call them directly they probably give you a better price then going to the ebay store.
